300 Watt Permanent Magnet DC Pulley Generator 3/8" V-Belt Drive Pedal Power Pulley Dynamo with air ventilation holes PPG-PM300-P

I bought this motor for a bicycle generator and it works great when used as a "pulley system" but does not work as a "direct drive" by putting the tire directly to the pulley/rotor. My guess is it can't handle the additional RPM's running direct but the motor does work well with the pulley. The problem I have is the motor I received does not look like the motor pictured. In fact, it looks identical to other motors sold on amazon for electric scooters, search (Electric motors: Razor E300 & Ampflow P40-250). These motors seem to have the same spec's as this motor and are selling for around $50. In regards to the "specs", this motor is advertised in the product description as being capable of producing 40v, yet the spec's listed below the product rate the motor at 12-24v. (I have reached around 35v without a load with this motor and can charge 24v batteries). DO RESEARCH ON OTHER MOTORS BEFORE PAYING $200 FOR THIS! The back of this motor is cast with a company name of "UNITE MOTOR CO." I bet the same is cast on the back of the less expensive Scooter motors. The scooter motor's come with a gear or cog instead of a pulley but that can be changed.

This product is excellent. Performed exactly as described. Came with an information sheet describing how to use it. It ran for over 2 hours with no excess heating. It was able to charge multiple 12 volt batteries with no problem.

Gets up to 170 watts in a full sprint in the tallest gear of a road bike. With continued pedaling over a minute, you will be in the 90 watt range. The extra $150 in price is just for the convenience of having the pulley put on.

The generator would not generate the advertised electricity. Not gonna buy from this guys again. Hope that i can get my money back because this was a big disappointment.

Twenty stars and worth another fifty dollars or more..Great generator and this is the best in very many years I have found.. What more needs to be said except you to Will be happy you went and purchased this one, so just go for this one..For the size much power and built to a standard that is second to any you will find..

its not 300 watts its about 100 watts....it can be used as a motor and a generator...that's a good 12 volt 8 amp generator
