Very useful inexpensive device
I am very impressed by the quality of this inexpensive device. After my laptop's soundcard started emitting loud buzzing noises and became largely unusable for web meetings, I bought this usb sound card and it has solved all my sound problems. I like that it has a port for a combined headset and mic, something that was missing on my laptop's sound card which forced me to have to use separate headset and mic devices, but now I can just plug in my cheap $10 earbuds and it works great for both mic and audio. The sound quality is equal or maybe even better than my laptop's built-in sound card, and it is very easy to use, no setup required.

I've Tried Several That Were Far More Expensive But This Is The Best Of Them All
I've tried three other stereo to 4 channel audio HD adapters and this is the one I'm going to keep because it works so well. The average computer user will appreciate that this adapter is literally a plug and play device. The others I've tried came with their own drivers on a CD which required the user to tweak some computer settings (property sheets for the default audio device/s.) So if you're looking for something simple to turn your computer (PC) from one set of stereo speakers to four then look no further. It would be helpful to read the (small) single page instructions first just to know which of the two buttons does what. (Although the buttons are labeled on the adapter.) The only shortcoming (pun fully intended) is that the USB cable is only about 4" long so used an extension cord to keep the device from hanging in the air. But then this is a very simple and inexpensive solution. For the money this adapter is at least as good as and (in some cases) far better than the more expensive ones I've tried. So this is a case where less is definitely more!

Worked great for short period of time
Well, Customer Service emailed me, expressing their concern with my dissatisfaction of their product. They offered me a gift card, or to send me a new USB sound card. I wrote back thanking them for their concern, mentioned that we already ordered a different USB sound card, which does the same thing, so we think it might be the motherboard going out. Meanwhile, REALLY nice c/s! If you have a current computer needing sound, this would be my recommendation, for what it's worth. My husband made me Doom levels, which I prefer over the manufactured ones. Sadly, the computer he used to make these is an old one. We're afraid the mother board might be going out. I've have a sound card in my cart for when paycheck comes in, but this is a game that MUST have sound. So, we got this item, and the sound was instantaneous to plugging it in. The bad part is, the sound started breaking apart after playing for maybe 15 minutes. We're still going to have to replace original sound card. Still - this little item was a very welcome addition.

Bought for Steam Link specifically
Bought after searching other interesting & tempting options. Having only $17 to spend was a bummer & a blessing, because this little TechRise card was just what was needed for me. My TV has no headphone jack, & is not so smart (for reference Toshiba 42xV545U) Cannot bear to get rid of it, given to me by my deceased sister. At night playing games, listening to music, or watching a movie, has to be done @ low volume- (out of respect- not everyone loves Metal) But it sucks when favorite jam comes on, or can't hear dialog, or when that proverbial bastard shoots me because their footsteps/direction of gunfire could not be heard. (For general reference, headset is hyperX cloud stinger), yes- El Cheapo,3.5mm connector, with on-ear volume slider, well made though. The Nitty-Gritty: Plugged into the Steam Link straight out of the package, plugged headset's microphone & speaker connecter into the card. Success- Well kinda- Mic is not working or "the tweak" is yet to be discovered by me, or offered by Steam. The setting Is there in the Steam Link. Maybe more on this in a future edit- as microphone use was not my goal to begin with, & am a man of few words, any-what. Edit re: Mic- Yes, it is now working & has been since the Realtek Audio settings were changed by myself to reflect the result wanted, a microphone! Nitty-Gritty: the volume was lower than expected or wanted to bother with- but don't really mind tweaking settings if the end result is beneficial. Solved: From The Living Room. Right click Audio Manager, left click Audio Devices, left click Communications tab, selected Do Nothing. Wham!! The volume made me jump because it was late @ time of experiment, - Cyber Acoustics 2.1speakers were plugged in with volume @ max, TechRise card volume was @ max too. Success! Nitty-Gritty: some complain about the led lights- personally find them pleasant, not too bright & not too dark. Thus far, Only 1 Dislikes for me were 1.The volume knob on the TechRise card: It does not rise (pun?) above the face of the deck as much as personally desired & was very slick to my dry callused fingertips, as there's no real texture to the knob itself. Also no visible dot to determine volume level on the knob. Both these issues were solved carefully with cheap rotary tool that came with engraving and diamond shaping bits- you know because un-cut diamonds are just laying all over the place in my hut. Practice your engraving on that old inkjet printer you hate 1st, i did not. You could also swallow your spit & use a red hot needle or some sand paper instead, to get some more texture on it. One more thing is that there is a noticeable \?buffer?/ dead space, almost quarter of inch, before volume actually kicks in on the knob, as you turn it from lowest position. My current thought is that this is negligible, that said, do chime in regarding this matter, should you be so compelled, please. Endurance withstanding if TechRise (did i say your name enough) card holds up, perhaps more customization down the road. One last thing to make me smile is that i can switch the channel on my Tv to my security camera channel and the music is still going as i watch the freak-show outside march by, seriously, More entertaining than over air tv.. Time to enjoy my living room.

Va bien, aunque todavía no le he metido mucha caña.
