Not as advertised
As usual with Lamy, the ink is good and I enjoy using it, but the colour is not as advertised. The picture on the Amazon web page shows the ink to be very opaque and almost metallic. As you can see from my photograph, the ink is what I would call a traditional finish in a dark turquoise colour.

This gorgeous Lamy Amazonite ink could best be described as a greenish blue turquoise. It is NOT waterproof, which sadly most water based inks aren't. If you need waterproof ink check out Noodlers bulletproof line. Having said that, this is a lovely, lovely ink color that won't disappoint. I love fountain pens, especially Lamy's line which all write beautifully and dependably, even after days of non-use, and absolutely do not leak. But you can load this ink in any brand of fountain pen with a converter. Tip: If your pen doesn't have a converter or won't support use of one, rinse out the empty cartridge and then fill it with an ink syringe. If amazon.com doesn't carry those you can get them at other online stores for a few dollars. The less plastic goes into landfills, the better for the planet. And there are a multitude of bottled ink colors available which you cannot get in cartridges. Today's fountain pens are wonderful, and this gorgeous Lamy Amazonite ink is one reason why I love them.
