Flexi New Classic Retractable Dog Leash (Cord), 26 ft, Medium, Red

The major difference with this particular retractable leash is that it is truly a cord leash; which I prefer to the tape kind that I have purchased many of, not realizing that tape is pretty much the only kind you find it does have approx 17" of tape at the end that clips to the dog. After the tape portion, it is attached to a very small, braided cord that doesn't ravel, at all. A much larger leash is recommended for my dog, I have found that the larger ones are heavy and burdensome. This is my 2nd purchase of this particular leash. I utilize this leash for my extremely strong pit and it has never broken. The first day that he was rescued, I was dragged superman style all the way down my road until a neighbor stepped in. My dog is muscular and strong and has the energy of a puppy. He is not easy on the leash and this is one tough lil leash!! this will remain my leash of choice anywhere that we travel to; the dog is part of our family and he goes everywhere we do. The stop lock on it is used A LOT, and keeps working. It gets rained on, drags in the sand, the ocean, gets dragged around and other than cosmetic appearances, there simply isn't another leash that can take what this one can. It has never pulled out, the lock has never given way, the cord looks like it did the first day we received it. Awesome leash that stands up to my dogs mistreatment. very satisfied with this leash!

My little dog is so happy with this 26’ leash ! She now has the room to run full speed all over the place & it’s fun watching what a good time she has zig zagging all over the yard or park ! She was never able to do that with the 16’ one . At first it felt a little awkward in my hand compared to the smaller one , but was soon ok . I think the locking mechanism is probably ok but I find it awkward & not sure I trust it so I tend to just hold the button down . And it doesn’t reel in nearly as quickly or smoothly as the old one so at first I wasn’t sure it was going to work out but turns out it’s absolutely fine the way it is . Because it reels in slower (though there’s never really any loose slack in it even when she’s running towards me fast , the tension of it just isn’t so tight ) & not as smoothly as the old one (feels like it has little quick glitches in the rewind ) I’m just not sure if this has the same quality as my old one which is used several times a day every day for the past 8 yrs & is still in perfect shape . My dog is so happy with it though & I like it , so hopefully it’s still the Flexi quality of the past , just with a different feel to it

I've used maybe a dozen different retractable leashes in recent years and came back to this one when my first Flexi started getting chancy after five years of use five times a day (I just did the math at that's over nine thousand uses). Most retractables talk about their features but without durability what good are those features? Flexi invented the retractable leash, I'm told. It shows. I walk two very different dogs at the same time with these, up and down full flights of stairs and around trees and across streets. I need the leashes to work fast and work reliably. I have the poop bag holder on both and the Flexi light on one. I'm not sure I recommend the light (though I've been using it for those five years). I had to modify it so it wouldn't turn on when it bumped against my other leash. Pay the extra for this. Over the years the extra quality pays off.

I'm blown away by this product. Firstly, let me explain that downhill mountain biking is my hobby. A big thing in PNW mountain bike culture is "trail dogs"; dogs that follow their riding companions for a mutual shred. Once we get to the trail, the leash comes off and my Min-Pin is free to follow me down the mountain. Getting two and from the trail, however, is where this product shines. We started out using a "ribbon" style retractable leash. At first, I didn't see it's faults. Recently, the leash began folding over itself, making it impossible for the leash to retract. The locking mechanism was, also, trash. I underwent the search for a "cable" leash, and this was the first product that popped up! Gone are the days of tangled leashes and frustrated mountain bikers! This leash CANNOT tangle because it uses cord over ribbon. I cannot say enough about this product. We just got home from our first trail ride and I'm stoked on the quality and ease of use. GET THIS LEASH!

The leash is great, but the sticker on the side has a hexagon pattern that seems to be masquerading as retroreflective material, like on a street sign. However, it doesn’t actually seem to be a retroreflector, so it’s probably much less effective at increasing visibility to cars. This feels misleading and dangerous. Edit: I see some light from the sticker occasionally, so it's doing *something*. It seems like it only works when you view it from a really oblique angle, and even then I don't think it's working like a retroreflector normally does, so I'm not sure how valuable it is for safety.

I bought this brand because I have a Flexi retractable leash I've had for over 20 years ago and it just now gave out. It's one for a medium dog and had used it with several dogs throughout the years, the latest being a 80lb husky/lab mix who is very strong. With that being said, I know it is a good brand ! It feels comfortable in my hand, retracts nicely, and the pause and stop buttons work fine. I am looking forward to taking my dog out tomorrow.

Works great as it should !

Sturdy. Not as comfortable as the old ones (the ones from 2006). With multiple dogs, it's not easy to carry three of these in my hand because of the bulge in the middle of the grip. Go back to the old ones, please! Scored 5 stars for sturdiness, though, because that's the real reason we buy these, right? My dogs are safe when they are attached with this lead, so that's all that matters. Great quality.

Got this after trying a few other for our 6kg cav puppy. Saw some photos about the smaller size and decided to go the medium size. It's perfect for his current size and for what he will grow in to. The locking mechanism is great and effective, allows him to sniff and stuff for a bit then run to catch up.

Not bad, but could be better. Biggest issue was the how easily my puppy chewed through the belt/strap part of the lead, less than a minute.

Me gusta mucho este producto. Lo he tirado varias veces y no se rompe, la a mordido y aún no se rompe. Mi perrita es muy fuerte y juguetona y la jala muy fuerte y no se ha reventado o sacado de su carrete. Me encanta la marca.

My go to brand for flexi-leads. Fabulous quality lead that does everything it should unlike others I’ve tried in the past. Love the reflectiveness of the lead itself and sides of holder. Really helps see where dog is in darker evenings.

This is a well made lead and easy to handle, it’s just the right size for our Yorkshire Terrier around 10 lb in weight.
