Amazing Fightpad, Best I Have Used In Years
Very comfortable to hold and responsive inputs, never find myself struggling to pull off a Shoryuken like do with poor D-Pads. I have always preferred to use Saturn Pads in fighting games but this is even better in my opinion. It is more comfortable, the smaller buttons are easier to press and not so rounded on top and the bumper buttons feel great. Then the bonus of it connecting as a proper xbox controller via bluetooth so works with all my MUGEN games and Launchbox build without having to reconfigure anything. Has an easy to use turbo button assigner great for old shooters etc. One downfall i experienced however was using this controller with 8BitDo's wireless brick dongle v2 the black one. I had nothing but disconnects, left and right triggers assigning themselves to Right Bumper and Right Trigger, but the main problem is the d-pad, left stick and right stick switch. On this controller you hold the select button up down left or right to assign the dpad as left stick / right stick etc. When this is done whilst connected to the V2 dongle it assigns every button wrong and acts very strange. Now i think this issues will be patched later as the firmware for the v2 dongle is still only on 1.0 so in the meantime i recommend connecting these via bluetooth as everything works as it should that way. I will always buy my controllers form 8BitDo in the future.

Good gamepad for retro games!
This pad is a nearly perfect SEGA pad. Awesome d-pad, great buttons. Good connectivity. Be aware that it won't work for all "retro"-style games however - most developers expect 2 thumbsticks now and their games are designed for Xbox pads instead.

A really great modern Mega Drive-style controller.
I've been using this for my Mega Drive and Switch so far, and I really like it. The shape, feel and spacing of the buttons are a very close match for a Mega Drive 6-button controller, and not much smaller than a Japanese Saturn controller. I find the contours much more comfortable, and the SNES-style shoulder buttons are far better than the clicky ones on Saturn controllers. Those who are used to the Mega Drive 3-button controller or the more angular western Saturn controllers may find this too small for them, but that hasn't been an issue for me. Syncing with different devices can be finicky, but once they're paired, it works really well. If you're buying this for a Switch, you might find the buttons don't map very well for certain games, but since the Switch added the ability to create and save custom button mappings from the Settings menu, this shouldn't be a dealbreaker. Playing Flashback with the original button layout felt like a massive improvement. I'm already thinking about getting a Retro-Bit receiver so I can use this as my main Saturn controller.

Nostalgia in a cheap and sturdy package
I missed out on the Sega Megadrive/Genesis when I was a kid, but I do remember playing at my friend's houses, and this controller invokes that nostalgia everytime I pick it up to play classic retro games on PC emulators or tabs. Honestly really easy to set up and play - bluetooth, very sturdy and at least for me, very comfortable. I don't use the shoulder buttons to play Sonic the Hedgehog or Contra, but I do use them when playing some Dreamcast games on the PC - to which their own I suppose. The d-pad is just as you would imagine it to be. For £25 this is a bargain. Whenever I take long flights, I carry my pad with me, and it's really hard to play those retro games on the touch screen, but with this I'm sorted. I know I'm biased as I love SEGA but if you're buying this for nostalgia, this is definitely not just £25, this is an investment for the future! Thoroughly recommend!

Great controller
A fantastic modern day Megadrive controller. If you've got a Megadrive laying around make sure that you also buy the Bluetooth receiver also by 8bitdo 👍 Also recommended if you have a Nintendo Switch to play Sonic Origins 👍

Not Good on Linux
Does not work properly on Linux. Tested on Linux Mint 22.3 in both B-Input and X-Input modes. Controller is recognised by the bluetooth manager but will not be picked up by Steam or any Emulators. Firmware can only be updated with a Windows Operating System. Not a plug and play solution by any means. The 2.4g version works better but still requires manual configuration for Steam and any emulators. Avoid this one if you're using Linux.

Very nice retro style controller
I bought this controller for my Android TV. This is very light and comfortable and good for casual arcade games. It's a very good quality controller. Just keep the following things in mind while purchasing: - No haptic feedback - not so much weight to it could be advantage or disadvantage depending on your needs. I personally like it for the games I play. Above are not negatives but just to keep in mind while purchasing.

Better than the Retrobit Sega Saturn Pad
I've been a big fan of the Sega Saturn controller for years and used to play a lot of Third Strike back in the day. When Retrobit released their controllers, I eagerly bought two, keeping them boxed until the day I wanted to play Street Fighter again. Unfortunately, when I recently unboxed them and started playing, both controllers' d-pads broke within a few hours. Thankfully, I came across an alternative, this controller, after checking out the reviews. I must say, the build quality of this controller is far superior, and the d-pad feels even better than the Retrobit one. If you're hesitant about making a choice and worried about how it might feel, I can confidently say that this controller is the better option. You won't be disappointed with your purchase!

This star rating is merely out of frustration. Why is this pad none responsive and not working with my Mortal Kombat 3 installed game on my Laptop?? I already purchased the other Nintendo type 8bit SN 30 and it is working well with games like "Gaurdian Legend" and Super Mario Bros 2.

After watching a few YouTube reviews for this controller I decided to give it a shot and purchase. It was worth it. The controller, itself, is comfortable in the hand. The buttons register every press without fail and the d-pad is comfortable to use. Registering it as a separate x-input and d-input device on a Win10 PC was very easy; and Win10 reconnection with the device, no matter which input style, was quick. I have used this to play emulation games, primarily, but also the more recent release of Streets of Rage 4 and BroForce. Works perfetcly across all once you do the regular configuration
