EVANS is awesome! Quiet, durable and reactive.
Quiet but also allowed me to get some snare sound, which is exactly what I wanted. The head is durable and has a lot of reaction to it.

Perfect for practice, very quiet!
Great - a must have for not disturbing the neighbors! I can play at any time of day and get a good feel while keeping volume low. As a new drummer, I'm very glad about this! You probably shouldn't use brushes on them (I haven't torn anything yet), but simulating brush strokes with sticks is a reasonable substitute. They're easy to tune and adjust for feel as well.

Just what I needed to reduce noise and use for triggers
I bought mesh heads for the Evans Sensory Percussion system but found that I enjoy playing on these heads even when not running the module. I have a house full with the wife and kids often getting annoyed when I have the music loud while I play. I bought the Sensory Percussion kit to allow me to practice, play and record without disrupting the family. I initially used the system on standard heads but realized mesh heads are a great option for clean electronic sound inputs while recording. I tend to want to write and record in the middle of the night and I can now do that without waking everyone up.

Great invention!
I bought a pack of these for the whole kit to better control the drum set with mics at my medium sized church. Now we are able to control them through the mains and balance everything well. Obviously you lose some of the tone because they are mesh heads, but they work for my purposes. I am a drummer and love the feel. My other few drummers are not the biggest fans, but the congregation hasn’t complained about the drums being too loud now.

Practice without disturbing the rest of the world.
Feels close enough to a real head. It is pretty quite, and does still have some drum sound for feedback, which is good for practicing. Some of that has to do with the resonant head, so I suppose they could be more quite if on both sides of the drum or leaving the bottom head open. I can play just fine in the next room, with the door open, while people watch TV or talk or whatever they want. The Zildjian L80 cymbals accompany these heads very well. Remo silent stroke heads are an extremely close comparison to these, their mesh may be a little tighter, and may have a similar drum sound when practicing. The Evans are only offered in black, which is what I wanted, whereas the Remos are only offered in white. Either are a fine choice. I tried one of these on the little 13" snare first, then outfitted the rest of the kit to match. Big plus to using a mesh head over other types of mutes, you don't have to worry about them falling off and moving around while your playing. Nor do you have to worry about the kids just removing them and enjoying being loud while everyone else suffers. Mesh heads are the best thing to happen to practicing at home since the invention of the drum head (animal skin).

Well built.
Very durable for a double bass user. The black color is perfect so that the heads doesn't show age.

These don't last!
Bass drum head, even with the Evans patch, doesn't seem to last more than a couple of months. I play about 30-45 minutes/day on average. Evans ... this line is your least impressive work.

Live the response from these heads. I also use the Pearl Muffle Heads but use this one for my snare. Quiet and realistic in response. Will buy again b
