If you know you know
This is a great blade for matted dogs. It can be dangerous in the hands of someone untrained to use it properly, so be very careful if you haven't used one like this before. I lost my last one and am happy I could find another. Oster makes decent blades, so I hope it will last many years to come.

Great cutter for my Oster A5
This cutter is a big improvement from the #10 cutter my Oster Golden A5 came with. Works very well on my GoldenDoodle.

Best blade for my Standard Poodles
Wish I had known about this blade years ago. This #7 cuts thru my Standard Poodles coats as easily as a #10 but doesn’t look like they have been shaved. I just ordered another one so I can keep both my Andis clippers going strong. I’ve tried # 3 and #4 and guards on #30 in the past but they would not go thru my dogs thick , not matted, coats

The Go-To Blade
The dogs: mixed breed pound puppies, now adults, about 37 pounds. One with a hair coat similar to a Golder Retriever; the other similar to a Brittany. I have about 5 different Oster blades but none seemed to really work well when cutting off their winter coats. So I tried this one. It hasn't been off my clipper since I bought it. If you're just a dog owner that wants to keep your dog looking decent this is probably the blade for you. It cuts off thick winter coats easily and does a pretty decent job of trimming although I use barber scissors around the ears. If you're only going to own one blade this should probably be it. Oster makes a myriad of blades that all cut a little differently. You should consult their chart before buying a second blade to make sure you get the one specifically appropriate for what you might want to do. Some of their blades are designed for use on specific dog breeds. I once raised sheep and sheared them myself. You might want to bear this in mind as you weigh my comments.
