Best starter I ever owned
I purchased a Cheap starter from Amazon 18 months ago. It started the cart but it took longer than it should. It blew up two weeks ago. I did lots of looking to find a better starter and I found this one. It took a week to get but it was well worth the wait. It looks better made, went on with no issues and it turns the engine over so fast I dont even need to choke it when it is cold. ( 60 or above) I dont know if it will last but it is off to a great start.

Inner bearing retainer screws backed out and retainer cut inner windings
This starter generator worked great for two summers then heard metal clanging internally. Pulled apart and found screws (3) that secure inner bearing plat backed out and retainer cut internal windings. Sent back to DB thought that they wanted to review for replacement. Contacted their Returns and they said too bad past warranty, even though it was their or subcompany's faulty process, screws did not have locktight or lock washers. If you buy the screws (3) behind drive pulley require Locktight - pull one (1) at a time and add a dab of Locktight. Assure to do one at a time so inner plate is held in position.

The initial Starter Generator burned up (on installation). I bought another elsewhere (advertised as new) and it failed. Then the Amazon merchant sent me another. I installed it and it has performed well ever since Consequently I have nothing but good things to say about both the Amazon merchant and Amazon! THEY BOTH STAND BEHIND THE PRODUCT (which is saying something these days) Four stars only because of the initial trouble I encountered.
