This is a well built hide-a-safe. The storage space is roomy enough for keys and cash. However, the picture is misleading. Because, the storage space isn't deep enough to fit credit cards or ID. I would have been willing to sacrifice a few ounces of fluid space for just a little more depth. Some reviewers complained the seam from the bottom stash lid kind of gives it away. I just put it in a water bottle carrier, & it will never even be an issue! Of course, you must be discreet stashing & removing things! Just put it in your duffle bag/backpack before opening or open in a restroom stall, your vehicle, tent, etc. & you'll be fine! Like a few others I read about in the reviews, the stash lid at the bottom of my 1st bottle was defective. It was very difficult to remove & replace, kept grinding & scratching the threadding, & got worse each time I tried- even though I made sure the threads were aligned straight. But Amazon shipped me a replacement which I had the very next day & before I had even returned the defective one. The replacement works great! I figure my other was just from a bad batch. I deducted 1 star just because the photo of the credit card was misleading. A stash safe deep enough to accommodate some credit cards & ID would have been perfect!

I hate to write bad reviews, but the only reason I’m doing so is because I hope the company reads this and solves the problem for future customers. This water bottle safe is completely useless as a safe because the bottom is screwed on so tight, you can’t get it off. Perhaps it is screwed on by some kind of hydraulic machine or the threading was messed up. We tried everything to get it off. I gave it as a gift for a yankee swap so I can’t really return it either, so now I’m out money. And before someone thinks that maybe we weren’t strong enough, there was a room full of some of the strongest people I know. Two powerlifters, my friend chuck who is a farmer with the craziest grip out of anyone, a machine operator, who also has some pretty gnarly looking hands and forearms, and a mechanic who used an oil filter tool and all kind of rubber over channel lock / vise grip combinations you can think of. We were making the joke that this was like King Arthur and the sword in the stone. No one could get that bottom off. We tried twisting it both ways, heating it up. You name it. Wouldn’t budge. So I’m sorry to say it is a worthless product. If the company would reach out and tell me they are doing something to fix this, I will edit this review. Until then, I have to warm people not to waste their money. Edit.. I tried so many times to delete this bad review or edit and and Amazon won’t take it down for some reason. This company did so much to help me out. Refunded my money and sent me a new bottle which worked perfectly. I’m keeping the bad part in this one in hopes that Amazon will see that I am only trying to edit a previous review and not try to make another one

It's great for small items and even just hiding money or a snack, it fits my car key and ID/Debit but its pushing it as cards dont bend and my key needs to go in at an angle. Keep that in mind, what ever you put in it will clink around, so I don't recommend coins. I'm thinking one of those water bottle carrying bags would work well when using this on a walk. It is sturdy, as a female who hikes this could hurt if used like a bat.
