Surprised by how well this antenna performed. It locked GPS satellites quickly and maintained a strong fix even in heavy weather. The cable is long enough for flexible mounting, and the compact size helps keep the installation clean.

Seems to work well! The only problem is tunneling the wires.

I have a couple of Garmin 276Cs. I know they are old units, BUT they work! While I was out, I pulled to hard on the Gilson patch antenna cord and shorted the wires. Was in need of something in a hurry. Found this one on Amazon and even though it did not list the 276C, it listed several very similar models. I took the chance knowing I could return it if it did not work. Yeah, it works! See photo of satellites and strength of signal. Yeah, I blacked out my location, but I am in the Florida Keys. UPDATE: When I ordered this antenna, I also ordered the Shakespeare 4711 Nylon Flange Mount. With this mount it worked perfectly. I wanted the West Marine Rail Mount and got one later. The WM mount is metal and attached to the console gram rail. As soon as I hooked it up not only did my 276C lose satellites, but so did every GPS on my boat. (I have a total of 4. Garmin, Humminbird, Evinrude ETEC has on built in and my MinnKota trolling motor has one.) As soon as I went back to the to the Nylon mount everything went back to working. Maybe someone else can explain, but I don't have a clue as to why, I just know the results.

This is a great replacement for my sun damaged AIS antenna.Great price and preformance.
