Easy to install if you know this!!
My Amazon review on the camera: Since I own a 2013Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Sahara, that Is what I’m reviewing this camera for. I don’t know if it will work with your CJ or JL. I and my bro both bought these based on the good reviews and reasonable price. He has a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Sahara and I have the 2013 model. Both have the stock RHB head units. Removing the dash components to get the the rear of the radio was easy to follow on this video: https://youtu.be/VtzrNJVTPl4. You’ll need a 7mm socket and small slot screwdriver for this. Running the cable from the front to the rear was easy to follow with this video: https://youtu.be/q-9tXLerAus. BUT, what we found out was the ground was not working with the backup light cables (see around the 10:00 mark) so we grounded to the chassis on the 10mm bolt You’ll need a trim removal tool kit like this as well: https://www.amazon.com/GOOACC-Removal-No-Scratch-Dashboard-Dismantle/dp/B07V22YC9J which this is the kit I used. There is also a short pig tale red wire that is with the yellow video connector that comes from the back. We did not need this as from what I understand it is for aftermarket radios and standalone monitors of some sort. I just wrapped it in electrical tape to keep it from touching metal and in case I need it in the future. When you go to put the video feed connector in the back of the radio, this package comes with two. We needed the on that has the two cables going to the right (looking at the back of the radio) and NOT the one in the center. Once you run your wiring and get everything hooked up, you’ll need to “flash” your RHB head unit to use it with your camera. What we did was install an iOS app called OBD JScan, each purchased a VIN (see the app for that) and then using a Bluetooth OBDII reader like this: https://www.amazon.com/Vgate-Bluetooth-Scanner-Android-Compatible/dp/B06XGB4873 you can turn on the backup camera feature. The good thing is the reader can be used between vehicles (if you have multiple Jeeps for instance) and can change other features of them as you browse the app. So for around $140 and a few hours time, you can have a decent backup camera for your Jeep. One last thing, we found that the position for the camera is good enough to give you about 10-14” clearance when the red line is met on the parking guide for our Jeep. Your experience may differ, but check it out before bending the bracket.

Excellent Addition to our Jeep
I wish I'd bought this years ago. Backing up in a Jeep is a pain. Between the spare tire and the rear seat headrests, any Jeep owner knows it's a challenge. I've never hit anything in the years I didn't have this camera, but the reality is this backup camera is fabulous and makes things so much easier and safer. The picture is very clear. I connected it to a $100 head unit I bought off a competing online sales platform. I was worried about how everything would work together, but once I got everything connected right, it's been great. One word of caution - don't wrap the connecting cable too tightly. I initially had some interference in the picture, so I decided to loosen things up. Typically I use zip ties to tie lost cable up pretty tightly. For this cable, looser is better.

Instructions provided are not clear or helpful for installation
The instructions that were provided were very limited on how to install. I understand that every vehicle is different, but the instructions also say to look up the year, make and model of the car on Youtube to see detailed installation instructions. I did this and there was ZERO videos related to Eway and this particular backup camera. There are other videos on there that were helpful, but at the end of the day, it really just came down to me making educated guesses on how to do this and thankfully, I was successful. Fishing the wires/cables through the car is one thing...but actually hooking it up to power and/or the radio was completely a crapshoot and very frustrating. I reached out via email several times, but never got a response back from Eway. Their chat function was always closed whether it was day or night. So getting answers was extremely frustrating. I basically installed it my combining bits and pieces from different videos and hoping they would work for my particular vehicle (2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4 Door). The description here on Amazon makes this super easy to install, but the reality is, there are a lot of steps. Please note that you'll have to "flash" your radio in order for it to recognize that there's a camera. This can be done at the dealer (pain in you know what...) or you can purchase bluetooth OBD scanners and download an OBD scanner and purchase a license for your particular vehicle in order to flash the radio. This cost me around $50 total and honestly, was well worth it. You can adjust some other settings on your car, as well, so it was helpful. For me, this is what I had to do: 1. Flash the Radio via the OBD JScan app (app is free, but you have to purchase a license for the vehicle in the app) Link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076XVQMVS?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details 2. I have an automatic, so I connected the Red camera power cable to the Gray/White wire in the back corner of the car. The Gray/White wire is the Reverse light. so when you go into reverse, this sends the 12V power through that cable. 3. I connected the Black Ground cable to the Black cable in the back corner of the car. 4. I purchased smaller T-Tap connectors to splice the Red Power and Black Ground wires. I saw a video where someone just sort of stripped the existing cables and tied them together with electrical tape. Obviously that worked for that person, so to each their own. Link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C9GM8TPW?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 5. Fished the wires on the right passenger side of vehicle and up behind glove box and out to radio. 6. I connected the GREEN RCA cable which connected to the back of the MyGig radio. 7. There is a short red wire coming out of the yellow RCA cable that connected to the green cable. I just put electrical tape on this because I figured I was getting power from the Gray/White cable in the back corner of the car...I was correct in this. Other sites show that this is how you get power and that may be true if i did NOT connect the Red power cable to the Gray/White Cable in the back. 8. Enjoy the backup camera. Side note, on the backup camera, there's a small black plastic cover that if you remove, it will show the guidelines on the screen. I removed because it gives me the guide to keep my jeep straight as I backup. Please note that the little hashmarks on these guidelines don't really represent any particular distance...and your car will NOT beep if you're getting close to an object. My wife asked me that and I explained that you need special sensors for that feature and this is just a straight camera. Hope this helps someone...

Easy install good fit for my Jeep JK. Cables that came with it made more or less plug and play for the head unit. Recommend

We purchased this camera for our Jeep. Upon install it did not work. Tried to find a phone number to contact the company, the only way to contact them is through email. Sent an email and waited to put the Jeep all back together, hoping we would get answers and avoid taking the dash and tail lights and inside trim off for a second time. We eventually had no choice but to put everything back together to be able free up our garage and to use our vehicle again. It has been a week with no response to our request for help to get it working. Would NOT recommend this product or company!! Terrible support and customer service!!
