Wonderfull addition to my Samsung Centura
Wonderful addition to my Samsung Centura. I needed an inexpensive way of taking macro shots for things I am selling on eBay. I had been looking at the plethora of lens offerings out there and was intrigued by the pictures submitted by owners of the Pocket Lens and the many positive reviews so decided to check it out.. Boy was I amazed at the ease of use and stunning quality of the pictures that my refurbished $20 phone could produce with the Pocket Lens. The Pocket Lens is helping me to take clear pictures of parts that I am selling and has already payed for itself. Super simple to use, just clip it on, unscrew the wide-angle lens, get down to about an inch away from your subject and shoot. My Samsung phones camera is centered side to side, down about an inch from the top of the phone and the Pocket Lens fits it perfectly The wide angle lens works great as well but my main use is the macro. I highly recommend this quality lens package for anyone with a cell phone and especially for anyone wanting to take macro shots without having to spend a fortune on a DSLR. Included some pictures of parts of a couple of straight razors that I am working on, these parts are 1/4 to 1/2 inch wide. I am just a beginner with the Pocket Lens and looking forward to taking lots of pictures with it.

Close Up Lens is Fantastic!
***UPDATE*** I can no longer recommend this lens as there's a serious design flaw that causes the glass lens to get pushed out of the black ring by the back piece (that sits on the phone when connected) if/when this is kept in a pocket. I've gone through 3 or 4 of these now, reason being is that I really like the clarity of this lens compared to others I've tried for macro when I don't/can't carry around my DSLR. But until this issue is fixed (maybe by lengthening the back piece longways?), I wouldn't buy this again, nor recommend. See pics. *********** This little lens is AMAZING! I have been using it everyday since I received it. You can get really decent photos with the close up lens (which is the only reason I bought this and the only one I've used). I've mainly been using it for insects, arachnids, and flowers. The only problems I have is that the lens cap does not stay on well at all and I've already lost it, and there is no rear lens cap. This leaves the lens open for scratches and dust/dirt. I would definitely recommend and would buy again. In fact I did buy another one for my mom. :)

It was nice to be able to send pictures to our family ...
So I am big fan of the wide angle lens. My children play sports and band for schools and this actually helped me to get the entire field and stage in one shot! It was nice to be able to send pictures to our family who couldn't make it, without having to take 5 different shots trying to get the whole field or stage in. The picture was crisp, slight fishbowl effect but that didn't bother me at all. The macro lens has proven to be a bit more difficult to master as trying to figure out how close to get is an art form in itself. It's taken me a week or so of playing around but I'm finally getting the hang of it. It even helped me realize I was missing a small diamond from my wedding ring-that's what is pictured lol. Overall it's a nice little accessory for a mom like myself who likes to snap pictures. It's not professional and doesn't advertise as such. Decent product for a decent price!

A Good Add-On
It's small and fits well in a pocket. It's easy to clip on and take off. The macro - for which you have to be really close - takes a good up close photo. The wide angle isn't a great deal different from the regular view, but it does add some extra viewing area without being extra expensive. in all, the lens does what it's designed to do and is easy to transport and be handy for use quickly.

not perfect, but overall it is a good product
I recently used the pocketlens for two weeks while traveling. Even though I encountered a few negative things while using it, overall I am satisfied with the product. I only used the wide angle feature, not the macro feature. Here are the pros and cons I experienced. Pros: Nicely packaged. Small and light. Allowed me to take pictures that I otherwise would not have been able to take. Optical quality seems to be very good. Grips the iPhone securely when in use. Fits nicely over my iPhone case (Laza brand). Easy to center the pocketlens over the camera lens to prevent vignetting. Protective pouch is nicely made. Cons: Rubber ring that presses against the camera is just glued on; sliding the pocket lens against the iPhone case caused the glue to fail and the ring to slide around. Fortunately I didn’t lose the rubber ring, although it fell off once. Wide angle lens initially screwed on tightly and stayed in place, but after a few days the wide angle lens does not tighten. It says attached, but spins around freely. This does not seem to affect the lens function, but something in the threads that hold the lens tight seems to have failed. Lens cap is small and untethered, so it can be easily lost and I didn’t bother recapping the lens between uses. There is barrel distortion with this lens, but that is not a flaw of the lens itself and is expected with wide angle lenses, so buildings appear not to have been built using straight lines. Despite the cons I mentioned, I am happy with the purchase, and I feel it is worth the price I paid.

Decided to buy one of these having read the reviews and been frustrated by not being able to take close up photos of insects, flowers etc on walks. Once I’d worked out which was the wide angle and which was the macro lens, all is good! Good for the price and supplied with handy little pouch.

Easy to setup and will make taking close up photos more accurate

The white plastic is going to give out very quickly one way or other...so not a long term option I would suspect. It also doesn’t hold the lens at all well ..falls out easily...so you have to be careful. Also no matter how you position the lens you can’t get 100% cover. But you can trim off I suppose when editing. It’s not terribly good close up....I would say between 5-10 magnification. But coupled with the zoom of the iPad and iPhone...well that makes it far better. It’s only for fun...not serious photography. For the money...a fiddly toy to entertain before its broken like all cheap toys....what did one expect. I added pic of dried rose I had....with just the lenses and with added iPad zoom

Very neat accessory, the wide angle is surprisingly good (gives an estate-agent type photo!) The close up lens is tricky to keep in focus, but gives a reasonable result
