Download it once and read it on your Kindle device, PC, phones or tablets. Use features like bookmarks, note taking and highlighting while reading Complete Crochet Course: The Ultimate Reference Guide. Review: A guide to the skills and techniques for polished crochet - Complete Crochet Course by the Mullet-Bowlsbys gives Crochet the kind of serious, in-depth treatment usually reserved for knitting. It is a very well organized progressive course with lots of swatch exercises that include related skills. Illustrations are very clear and broken down into the smallest parts so I don't get lost. The book concludes with several attractive projects for putting the skills to work. For crocheters who are intermediate, you can skip the basics, but the authors have so many little insights about the basics, it's worth reviewing those too. Skills (like how to carry yarn up the side of a project for striped fabric) have a primary description and then the page for the description is referenced in sections where you need to use that skill. I can't say enough good things about the thoroughness and ambitiousness of the book. If you want to learn to crochet really well, or just go to the next level, everything you need is here. I'm an intermediate beginning crocheter. I found explanations of many things I've wondered about. Most crochet directions are simple and don't focus on refinement. Review: This is a great place to start. - While I have crocheted for several years, I wanted a book that explained just about everything and here it is. Great diagrams, pictures and detailed explanation on crocheting more than scarves, shawls and blankets. Quickly delivered in pristine condition. 100%

Incredibly helpful to me immediately!
I consider myself to be a beginner/intermediate crocheter. I understand most of the fundamentals and am ready to kick it up a notch and make my work next level—while building my skills and technique knowledge base. The day I received this, I would have stayed up all night pouring through it if my sleepy eyes would have let me stay up! It’s well laid out, nicely photographed, and with great points of reference. It contains full stitch chart symbols, a comprehensive guide of stitch patterns (color swatch photos, with visual charts and written patterns), that I will surely reference back to for years of crocheting to come. This is an actual resource manual that I can see myself using over and over when I get stumped, and I’m so glad I chose this book over others. It was well-written and executed, organized, and with colors, photography, and fonts that are pleasing to my eyes. It seems to be written in terms that I can understand, and in a way that my brain can pick up. The patterns at the end are very nice, and you are basically set up for success to execute them with the way they are written, and with the techniques referenced back to in certain areas of the book. I think this is something any crocheter would love to receive, regardless of skill level. But if you’re new or looking to have that *one* book, or want to give a nice gift to the yarn addict in your life—this is an excellent choice. Once I’m a little more advanced with patterns, I’ll be ordering the authors’ other titles. This is a fabulous resource. Not just a one and done book.

Weird editing, but great book
I would give this book 4.5, because it is very in depth and an amazing tool for all skill levels of crocheter. I take one star off though, because the editing is quite strange. There are paragraphs and sentences that are copied and repeated on the very next page you read, and some seem to be out of place. I’ve attached a photo of an example. Otherwise excellent book and a great resource for learning to crochet. Highly recommend!!

Best of the several crochet books I purchased
I always considered crochet to be beyond my comprehension because 10 years ago I tried to learn it from a vintage coats and clark pamphlet and quickly became confused while trying to make my first single crochet stitches into all those mysterious little loops and lumps and bumps in the beginning chain. This book completely cleared up all the confusion I had! I spent a weekend reading this book and have gone from being completely without hope to feeling fully ready to tackle projects. I can now read patterns and have completed a few practice swatches. Amazing! A huge amount of gratitude towards the authors and all the hard work they put into organizing this information and writing this book :::::::::::: Update: I’m gradually working through the beginner swatches and am noticing errors in the charts and in the written directions. This has been confusing me and slowing me down a bit. For example on page 91 the charts shows 5 chains up while the written directions state to chain 4. Referring back to the turning chain guide I can see that the correct number is 4. The chart on page 92 that is supposed to be for the half double crochet swatch is missing and in its place is a chart for the double treble swatch - a duplicate of page 90. Its making me a little leery about trusting the swatch patterns as they get more complicated but I would still 100% recommend this book because of all the reasons listed above. I definitely wouldn’t be able to recognize and work around the errors in the swatch section if not for the knowledge laid out in previous chapters.

Exquisite instruction but the font…
I have to give this instruction book 5 stars because it is a completely well-planned course in crochet that can keep you learning and creating for years. I didn’t deduct any stars, but the font is killing me. It is a delicate, lovely font but oh so hard to read, for my eyes anyway. I would have appreciated a thicker, stronger font instead of the lacy ones. I am returning to crochet after a long absence and also wanting to learn more stitches, so my eyes aren’t those of a young learner. The photographs are excellent and show the stitches very clearly. I agree with some reviews that wish the photos were larger but there is a lot packed into this book! The instructions are clear, step by step, and I appreciate the stitch samples to work on.
