Engine Guards Highway Crash Bars Engine Protectors Replacement for Suzuki Boulevard M109R VZR1800 2006-2022

I got three of these on my 2009, 2013 and 2019 M109R and it did it's job on my 2019 and my 2013 . Both dropped and the crash guard prevented damage to the casing, the air cleaner box and cover and left enough room for the tank to not touch the ground. Only downfall is the ones on my 2009 got pitted from debree and started rusting. Nothing a little sanding and black spraypaint can't fix though.

I assumed crash bars were standard as far as how far out they projected and protected the bike. These are barely visible and don't protect much more than maybe the engine in a minor drop. Unfortunately my bike fell over at a low speed in a parking lot. the shifter was severely bent and ended up breaking my clutch handle as well. You can see from the pic that they don't even go out farther than the foot pegs.

These bars are not thin and they don’t feel cheap. Fits 2015 M109R perfect, but the bolts don’t. Had to get new thicker and shorter ones.

I've had these for almost 6 months now, haven't mounted them to my M109R yet. Mainly because there's no provided instructions. There's apparently some bike disassembly required to access the bike frame mounts. I sure would like to know ahead of time instead of what the seller expects to be OJT for a buyer. Also other reviews for similar products say the bolts provided are wrong & don't securely mount these to the frame. I've viewed some online videos for others that have bought similar products that validate this claim & recommend purchasing alternate bolts to mount. Someday I'll get to this project. For now they look lovely in the original box. So shiny.

Bars are well made & the finish is good BUT, none of that matters when you can't install them until you've spent the time/gas to go find and buy the right bolts. The 'included' hardware is complete crap! Wrong diameter & length and absolutely useless for the top or bottom. Plus, as other reviews mention, there's no instructions. I DID KNOW that no instructions came with them but, useless hardware!?! As the current President loves to say, 'Come on man!'. Don't think its unreasonable to think that both should be included, especially for the price. So, if your thinking about buying these, keep that in mind. Hope this helps you avoid the same headache they gave me. In short, buy elsewhere!

The holes did not perfectly align with the pre-drilled options on the bike. However with a few very minor modifications they fit well and will definitely stand up to a potential layover if necessary.
