Sharp R860SLM Combination Flatbed Microwave Oven, 25 Litre capacity, 900W, Silver

Had this for some time now, very easy to clean, the buttons are a bit fiddley to use need pressing a few time to work sometimes.

We’ve taken the 3 year warranty, just in case, as the last 2 really good microwaves expired 1-2 months outside warranty. The last one was a hotpoint flatbed, no one knows what was wrong with it, we paid £140, I think that’s a lot for 13 months of light usage. So we’re either unlucky, or that’s how bad they are made, just a shame as the hotpoint was quiet and heated things evenly. So as I say just in case, for very little money, the extra warranty is worth every penny. It works really well, and functions well, easy to use. It’s definitely a bit noisy, and you do get hot spots, but I think we stand a better chance of this one lasting over the hotpoint. From recommendation, Sharp seem to be a better make than hotpoint.

I like the microwave very much, it is easy to use. The only downsides for me are that the grill is not very powerful and the internal light is not bright enough making it difficult to see what you are cooking.

This replaced a beautiful, top end Panasonic that did not last - to have a new magnitron (makes microwaves) was the same price as this total machine) - and it works very well. On arrival I found it very loud - but after 3 or 4 uses it quirtened down. I'd read in reviews that some people found the controls complicated - for me they are not as IF you want to do something simple like Microwave, Defrost or use the Convection oven ... it is straight forward. Just press the apropiate button and the Time and Start! Simple [There are many more complex things/combinations that are on offer - but the simple things are simple] The outside top of the case gets hot at one side when using Convection at 200 - as you would expect. So you would not want to leave anything on it. I don't find it a problem. I like the feel of closing/opening the door as it is reassuringly 'solid'. The interior light could be brighter - but I find that is the case with many combination/microwave ovens All in all a good product that is well priced and GOOD VALUE

Functionally, I have no complaints with this unit: it works well and is easy to clean. However, purchasers should be warned that, when the door is open, the edge of the bottom section of the metal casing is exposed just above the lower plastic trim - and it is VERY SHARP. I found out the hard way whilst cleaning the unit. Pressing quite firmly with a cloth and wiping horizontally in this area, the sharp casing-edge cut right through the cloth and deep into two of my fingers. The manufacturers need to pay more attention to this. Maybe it's a quality control issue. Just thought I should warn other prospective purchasers.

FOUR YEARS LATER The oven has been great, no turntable works great, I shall never go back! The grill and fan-oven are extras. Useful and work great. NEVER HAD A BETTER MICROWAVE. I ordered one, and almost immediately decided against! but couldn't cancel it and it arrived - thank goodness. For 10 years we used a stainless steel Panasonic 1000 W microwave, until it gave up the ghost - I wanted another Panasonic, since we were happy with the old one and it lasted 10 years - so I ordered one, a £175 one microwave only - it came, what a piece of cheap tacky crap! But this Sharp is fantastic - the microwave is the most powerful I have seen this side of commercial ones (in practice) and it can boil a glass of water shoved into one of the corners in 2 mins. In centre it takes about 10 seconds less. The fan oven works well, warming up a large slice of pizza to a lovely crisp in less than 10 mins. I was so smitten , I ordered a second one for the office.

Bought to replace same make that was 6 years old. Good for small kitchen and energy efficient. Easy to use

This micowave is good food is well done it's easy to keep clean I did after move mine kitchen around as this microwave is a lot bigger then mine other microwave this is the first flatbed micowave I have owed I am very pleased with it I will buy again it does get hot on top and at the sides other then that it's a good micowave
