These gloves are excellent quality. They're thick leather like suede. I have small hands, I usually have to buy kids gloves, and the small fit perfectly with no extra room or sliding and go up to my elbows. I bought these for "ruff" play with my pit and they are great. They protect against puncture so if bitten by something big you'll still get the pressure. Even after a good play session I had a few red marks but no bruising or skin abrasions like I would have gotten without the gloves. I haven't tested them in water but feel they would be waterproof if not submerged for an extended period of time. Great durable product for a great price. Highly recommend

Amazing gloves. I have a 7 month old puppy, who's teething and very mouthy. Those gloves just a miracle. I'm not in pain anymore, so this way I could teach him and play with him without being stressed or overwhelmed. Plus, the material is not toxic, all natural, and importantly safe for my puppy when he's chewing on them. Other brands are all dyed with chemicals, and it's not safe for your skin or for your animals. I made my homework and finally found the safest and natural gloves. These gloves did great against a group of fussy kittens who not only despise water but turn into yowling, screaming, biting and reckless claw-slashing machines as if they’re being tortured while forced to watch scores of their feline brethren be attacked in droves nearby on Earth’s final day in orbit. The thickness around the palm area is the best spot to be bitten, in my opinion. One of the main ones who loves to do this, in attempt to literally rip my skin off and eat it while making eye contact(good thing I were wearing a different kind of gloves back then, or else that really would have been my skin), bit and bit and chomped away, but didn’t get through. Further up along the thinner part around the arms though, however, I could feel the bite pierce me—but for the most part I could just look at him and go “Uh huh.” A much larger, and older, kitten—who is the perfect size to curl up and do damage with all 4 feet at once while clamping teeth down at the same time—managed to ALMOST rip the gloves down far enough to expose my whole forearm. Thankfully, the amount he did pull down I was able to readjust safely. His claws I could feel rather clearly, again, higher up along the glove. Other moments, I swear the tips of his claws sank right into the glove, but I couldn’t feel it. And no threads were dislodged by this. In terms of water resistance, these gloves are NOT it haha. While my hands weren’t swimming in globs of water, I could easily feel the buildup of shampoo sloshing around them. In a way, it helped when I squeezed my fist a good height above the cat to have more suds pour out, like a sponge when reaching for a washcloth would have been risky. My fingertips were all pruny upon taking the gloves off. Overall, although these gloves could be a bit more sturdy higher up on the arm, and more snug around it, these really did do the job. Had I not worn them, the entirety of my forearms and hands would have been bleeding into the water. So bizarre a cat could love you, and know you love them—but come bath time, and if they hate water—you become enemy number one and they will try to rip through you to get away! Bathing cats is the worst, but these gloves made the task MUCH more tolerant. I only got scratched once—and it was while carrying a kitty TOWARDS the water because, well, the gloves aren’t designed to fit around my neck, so that was fully exposed haha. Definitely a good purchase, but I wouldn’t have minded if they were a tad thicker—still their scruff factor is good and I wouldn’t want to risk losing that aspect if I did get a bulkier pair, elsewhere. I’m so glad these were made!

We have had about 5 cats at a time for the past almost 30 years. We live on a large expanse of farmland. Now for the first time we have an adult cat that bites. The few that did biting as kittens, we stopped it. This one only bites when she is happily being petted on my lap, purring very loudly. Then without warning, she bites very fast into my hand or above my glove on the skin. Because she does this when she seems happiest, I sometimes refer to her as my psychotic cat. I have had to resort to wearing these gloves to pet her after being bit hard enough to draw blood 3 times which then necessitates getting antibiotics. A cat bite is hazardous. I spend time with her because she is intimidated by the other cats who chase her as I am yelling out NO, NO. The victim always stays put while the aggressor runs off. And she is often even afraid to get petted when the other cats are around. She used to look depressed until I would spend a lot more time petting her, so it is important to pet her, but I can't keep taking antibiotics. The gloves aren't soft or fuzzy and are too large to really rub her in a more caring way, but incredibly she loves being petted with them. And she doesn't attempt to bite me. But if she did, the gloves are very long to protect me. I do wish that these gloves came in a smaller size. And they are stiff. Those are the drawbacks with them, but I couldn’t find anything better for my needy cat.

I got these to assist me with giving my huge af cat a bath. For being huge, he's strong and absolutely hates baths! He will flip, flop, scratch and bite to get away. This year's Spring bath I had the gloves as back up. The first time the fat fluff ball tried to scratch and didn't get a reaction, he flopped and sunk his teeth in. The look on his face when he realized he ain't doing any damage was priceless. He almost instantly just submitted to his bath, but he had to flip a fee more times to show his displeasure. The gloves absolutely did what I purchased them for! Sizing was perfect, no scratches or bites from the fat fluff ball. They did take forever to dry afterwards, but that's totally worth winning the bath battle with the stubborn cat

Not bad, but if you are dealing with a feral cat- they can and will be able to break through biting/scratching you.

These are spectacular and I am SO glad I added them to my arsenal. I professionally walk dogs, pet sit and do light grooming (nail trims and baths) and have been doing so for a few years now. I bought these specifically for a cat I watch who is quite spicy, but requires insulin twice a day. After many many times getting bit and scratched I was close to having to let them go as clients and these were my last ditch effort. Worked. Like. A. Charm. Try as he might he can’t get through them with teeth or claws. I even secure the gloves with a hair band and then put my hoodie sleeves over them so he can’t get under it either (otherwise he did manage that, but that’s user error not the gloves). Since that success I’ve used them for nippy small dogs during nail trims and baths, and have even bathed my own 4 cats with them (which if you met them, would astonish you). They work just as they should, the price is reasonable, they even hold up to water. This is a must have for anyone with my job or spicy small critters of their own.
