It's cord, it works fine but be aware it's a little thick for some lamps
It's a cord and I was able to make it work. My wife wanted a white cord to replace brown cord in some antique lamps. The quality is good, the length is good, the package came right away without any damage. The only complaint is that the insulation on the cord is a little thicker than many lamp cords, so it was a very tight fit in the lamps I used them in. I made it work, but it was tighter than I felt it needs to be, and it may not work for some others, so be aware of this. If your current lamp already has plenty of space for the cord, then this is a good option.

Lamp life support, plug and play
This cord is basically CPR for lamps—plug it in, strip the ends, and suddenly your sad, lifeless light fixture is back in business. The polarized molded plug feels like it was designed by someone who really cares about your DIY dignity. Eight feet gives you enough slack to pretend you’re an electrician without tripping over yourself. I used it to revive a lamp that had been sitting in the corner like a moody teenager, and now it’s glowing like it just found purpose. UL listed, so you can brag about being safe and stylish.

Great to practice on
GE always has good stuff. This wire was very cheap and pretty sturdy, perfect to replace the old lamp cord with. Unfortunately, the insulation wasnt cut off enough and the ends of the wire that were prefinished were too long and unpliable, so I tried to cut a little of the insulation off and I screwed it up. I ended cutting this wire and practicing my wire stripping skills until about 1/4 th of the cord was gone, but I finally perfected the skill. I installed it on my lamp and I have yet to die of electrocution. Success! I have an antique lamp so I ordered this cord along with a more expensive antique-looking cord. Now after all this practice I feel confident about installing the pricer cord with less blunders.
