King KP1210 1000-Watt 120-Volt 4-Foot Portable Baseboard Heater, Bright White

I put this under my 70" bedroom window. It's quiet and works great. I read some reviews about them producing weird smells at first, but I didn't experience that. I did put it on my back patio and run it for an hour first, but I really didn't smell anything. I put it on a Smart Plug that I could control with my phone so that it comes on an hour before we go to bed, and then again an hour before we wake up in the morning. Works like a charm and makes our cold bedroom comfortable again!

I bought USA intentionally but am disappointed in lack of Customer Service. There is smooshy plastic on the end sides of the heater between two PCs of metal plates but no mention in any instructions what to do with plastic. I had to use screwdriver (twisted) to separate metal plates to remove plastics from heater before turning on and expecting it to melt the plastic and cause fire. I wrote email to company from their official website form asking about this plastic and lack of information in packaging and never received a response. I am disappointed in their careless lack of communications regarding this plastic on the heater in their delivery box and their lack of response to me. As far as the heater goes, it does not have a setting guide as far as low, med, high, or temperature indication. That is a concern for me. I bought a thermometer for the room to tell me the temp. Otherwise, it seems to be built well, works well keeping my 14x19 unheated breezeway full of plants at a 60 degree temp when it was negative temps outside for a weekend and I kept the heater on high. Now the temps are 25-35 outside and I have the temp in middle and the thermometer is staying around 65. I don't know yet what my electric bill will say! But I am sad this company never responded to my inquiry I sent directly to them.

I've had this heater over a week now, and it works well. It's very simple, and appears durable and sturdy. The front panels are removeable for cleaning, and one slid during shipping but was easy enough to slide back into place. Despite being metal, the top panel, although hot, was not hot enough to burn myself on after the heater had been on 15 minutes. However, at 1000 watts, its not the strongest heater you can get and takes a bit of time to heat larger rooms.

It's fantastic, we love it, it was just what we needed to supplement the heat in our bedroom which has two exterior walls and just doesn't stay as warm as the rest of our apartment. Especially since our heat is landlord controlled. My only complaint is it sometimes emits a high pitched peep when it is on (it turns on and off automatically based on the thermostat, and makes a distinct click noise when it switches on, which doesn't bother me at all) - but this is a recent development and doesn't happen every time. My husband and I are both very sensitive to these kinds of noises, but we sleep through it most of the time. Highly recommend.

I bought this a few days ago after reading all of the reviews and was optimistic that it would suit my needs once winter hit. Well this paperweight arrived today in the box that it was packaged in with no protection and a big hole where the thermostat regulator is. I took it out of the box and saw the scuffing all over the regulator but decided "ok well, i can deal with that'. I went to move the unit and (I kid you not), a small metal ball, a half of a piece of plastic housing, and a screw fell out the end. This was all part of the "tip over" shut off mechanism which (clearly) wasn't going to work. I plugged the unit in and kicked it on and to my UTTER surprise, nothing. Sending it back tomorrow. You get what you pay for folks; this is no different. The only plus initially was that it was American made, unfortunately, I wish it had another country written on it so it wouldn't be such an embarrasment.

This baseboard heater is part of my living room which also has 3 other 'low' wattage heaters. This heater, with thermostat, maintains my room at 68 degrees (which is what I want). Depending on room size, installation, etc., this heater will either be great alone or need assistance of other heaters.

I purchased this heater early in January, 2014, to place under a north-facing drafty window in a bedroom. The first heater I received was dented at one end and one of the feet was broken off; I contacted Amazon, who send me another immediately. The second one works well and does what I want - which is keep the bedroom a bit warmer. It is taller and bulkier than I had hoped. I have older Berko and Sears heaters that are more discrete. The heavy electrical cord is at the wrong end of the heater for my space and not long enough to plug into the wall socket. I added a surge protector, extending the length a few feet. I don't feel very secure about this, so I check it often.

Thermo only worked in highest position. Dent on metal housing surrounding thermo. After a week, one of the plastic feet inexplicably broke. Will try a replacement hoping it will arrive in good shape and work properly.
