First Blush...Perfect for Minimalistic Travel
Just pleased as punch with this set, and the price I paid. Allegiant has pretty strict sizing and this offered me a personal under seat item and carry-on that made the most of the odd sizing allowed. I was worried from reviews it would feel like my nephew's overnight suitcases when they go to visit grandma, but no, despite being light, this is a perfectly adult-sized set for someone that is looking to travel light. What I'm happy about, is it is a better set in person. Will it hold up? We shall see, but after spending bukoos of cash on an "expensive" carry-on for my significant other that came back shredded after his first flight (non-checked) I swore I was never going to do that again. I was mortified. This looks to be durable however, and there were small touches that just thrilled me. For example, the pockets on the tote and the suitcase zip all the way down the sides so they open widely, but their is a generous liner sleeve sewn in to keep items from falling out. They aren't shallow either and have room up and down and on the sides about an inch so you have plenty of room. There's a little tag pocket on the back and the color I chose–the grey/black–looks pretty stylish, and the little brand tags do as well. I really appreciate the shoe style pockets on lid and the additional mesh. A woman with flats/flip flops could easily fit two pair, but a man would probably need to put a shoe in each pocket. The interior is light colored and neutral. The extra bag flap looks well sewn in and I think with some velcro strapping, it and tote strap can be easily tied up neatly (that was my only complaint - those things flap about a bit when not in use.) That extra bag strap will make a nice way to tie on a travel pillow or coat/scarf however. I paired this with these packing cubes FINNKARE 6 Set Packing Cubes with Shoe Bag Travel Luggage Organizers Lightweight Travel Cube Set Compression Pouches System for Carry-on Luggage Rose Red but be aware you won't be able to use all the pieces - I used the large one as an extra organizer in my closet. My 13-in Macbook Air, in a neoprene style zippered sleeve fits in the tote and if I was inclined to bring my iPad 2 it would fit in the larger outside pocket of the suitcase easily, and my 3-1-1 bag in the top one. The tote pocket is also designed the same as the suitcase, so it also is roomy and should be perfect for slipping in a clutch wallet, and those things I want easy access to - glasses case, phone, etc. I haven't packed it full yet. The tote bag is slightly wider from end to end than the suitcase - maybe by an inch but doesn't look awkward. I don't know if it would tip - the set doesn't sit leaning back on it's footrest, so there is that potential. I didn't see a lot of complaints about that in the reviews so have my fingers crossed with appropriate packing it will be fine. The pull out handle has two stops. We'll see how the handle holds up to repeated use - I do suspect with more expensive sets you'll feel a smoother motion. I actually bought this set because again, my now-disposed-of-more-mid-range set failed too soon in that department. This one at least offers a zippered lining to access that if I need to doctor it. I would say if you're on the fence, don't hesitate to try the set. Although all things are relative, it doesn't present, or feel tangibly as any cheaper than the ones at the 2x-3x more expensive price point, and has been well thought out in terms of function. And, I figure unlike the last purchases, when it does fail, I won't feel like such a schmuck for wasting money!

Good set on a budget
Great suitcase set for being on a budget. Love a basic black color, fits a lot of stuff, rolling it is okay. The cost is the highlight and it gets the job done. So many sets with ranging reviews but this one is actually alright. It made it through carrying a lot of stuff back and forth.

Not 21 inch height
I bought the 2-piece set in burgundy mainly because it claims to be 21" height x 14" width x 8" diameter. The dimensions were accurate for width and diameter but height measures 22 inches tall including wheels and even pressing down the top strap. These measurements work for domestic airlines (e.g. Delta, Alaska Airlines), but the height does not work for Canadian airlines (e.g. WestJet). I still took a chance and luckily was able to take this carry-on onto four WestJet flights without issue. This Travel Select carry-on slid into the overhead bin easily. We were asked to place the carry-on into the sizer just once either at FLL or YYZ Airport and passed the test. It comes with a separate lock but I would not rely on it; it is a really cheap quality lock that looks like you can open it without using a key. Material feels durable. As we were on the move for seven days, the retractable handle was still working after constant retracting and extracting the handle which was good, but I could feel it is starting to wobble a bit. The travel tote is a nice size but I did not use it because I prefer backpacks. The travel tote shoulder strap is not good quality; as in, don't carry heavy stuff or the straps will surely break off the bag and that would not be repairable. Overall, for the price I paid (40 bucks), it is an inexpensive price even if it lasts for one trip.

Very poor customer service
I am giving this set only one star because of the customer service. These looked like nice bags so we packed them up and set off to the airport for an adventure. Upon arriving at the airport we found that the handle on the large bag would not extend. Too late to do anything about it under the circumstances so just struggled with it. On arrival back home, there was a large tear in the second largest bag so it seemed that the luggage was not durable enough. We put in a request to Amazon to return the set. Evidently, this seller does not allow Amazon to handle returns so we were referred to the seller who informed us that It couldn't be returned because it was used. I wonder how one would know it f it were defective if one had not used it. Anyway, the seller sent us to the manufacturer who agreed that it could not be returned, but it MIGHT be eligible, for repair or replacement under the warranty. OK. We were sent a form to fill out with instructions that before we filled out the form, we MUST read the entire warranty. Done. They also wanted to have 2-3 pictures for each of the damaged cases sent showing the damage plus the front of the cases. The pictures had to be of a size that no one had to scroll down to see the complete picture. (Really?!). Also, a copy of the invoice from Amazon had to be sent in jpeg. form. OK. Got it. THEN we had to fill out the form stating the model number of each case which was to be obtained either from the tag that came on the case (riiight! I always save those. Who doesn't?) or obtained by going onto the company's web site to see what the number is. Surprise, surprise, there is nothing on the web site that tells what the model number of the individual cases might be. I took a quess, and proceeded to fill in the form with my name, address, city, state, country, email, and everything else except the hospital I was born in 72 years ago. Great! Ready to go! I hit send and error messages popped up. Much to my surprise, there evidently is no such place as the location of the house I have lived in for 36 years! Back to the drawing board. I deleted everything on the form and re-entered all the information, being careful to make SURE it was all accurate. Hit send. There is STILL no such location. I finally gave up and wrote to the company again to tell them of my irritation and that I intended to write a bad review. No answer for a week, so here is my review. If anyone would like a nice-looking, albeit non-functional, set of luggage, I would be happy to donate this one. By the way, I very seldom write reviews at all but this one needed to be written.

Great buy for under $100. Six year ownership review.
I purchased this case in early 2018, so have now owned it for six years. I used this case for six flying vacations, each of which involved the case being checked for anywhere from 2-4 flights (usually at least three), and also four cruises, which also entails checking the case with a baggage handler similar to an airline. I also used it for one weeklong road trip. Despite all the reviews calling the quality of this case flimsy, saying they don't think it would survive one flight... This case has performed remarkably well for me when considering the price point. It has survived the numerous trips outlined above (and being handled by baggage handlers) fully intact. The wheels still work great. I love the fact that it is two inline wheels, which performs better than the common four wheel spinner setup on any surface other than a hard flat floor. I attach my carry-on case to this case using a seperately bought luggage strap, and roll across all types of flooring and ground surfaces with no problems. After six years all the zippers still work. At some point one of the zipper tabs for the main zipper that opens the case broke, but not a deal breaker as I can still take the other zipper tab and just zip it all the way around. Other than that all zipper tabs are fully intact and functional, and none of the teeth are broken. I like the two pockets on the front of the case for storing things with easy access. The retractable handle still works fine. As other reviewers have stated, picking up the whole case by this handle is not recommended. The grab handles on the case are still attached and functional. Only after my most recent vacation did I notice some damage to the case. One of the corners has a slight dent in it that I cannot flatten out, and a little bit of tearing to the fabric. When considering the price paid for the case, I am very satisfied for how long it has lasted me. Not wanting to risk further damage, this case is being retired from air travel. But I will be keeping it and plan to use it for any road trips where I need to pack for more than a few days. At under $100, this case is a great value and I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't fly frequently.

Slightly improved from --> Cheap materials - I want my $$$ back! UNACCEPTABLE "QUALITY"
UPDATE APRIL 2025: I ordered again in NOV '24 bc i saw they "changed" the wheels with "inline skating wheels". They sure LOOK like those but nowhere near, however - MUCH BETTER. But again, the original wheels lasted only a couple of months just traveling back-n-forth from work. I got much more proficient at cutting&changing those wheels so i took the chance with this new version of this luggage. It looks like it can only last about a year, but condition being you change the wheels a couple of times on it. Last 3 pics show how the new "inline skating wheels" wear out and split, and my method changing them. The easiest is to cut as much of the plastic wheel itself w/o hitting the bearings and the core. That will give you room to work in the new wheels. Original: I like the size of this, but even with Thanksgiving pricing is just not worth. I take my things to work in this carry-on (no tools, just walk to train & back). Used for approx. ~2 months or less and the wheels are splitting. The handle is quite wobbly in its track on the back of the case. Feels just like any other one-time use piece of chinese garbage. We have achieved so much in this world...Update 1/7/24: At this point this piece of "luggage" has become unusable. As you can see in the last 4 photos the wheels have split and wore off, they were getting stuck and i just ended up embarrassing myself as if i am homeless by dragging this piece of "luggage" behind me because wheels are not up to the task. All i did was just trying to spare my back and not put weight on my bad back so i was hoping i can just roll my work uniform, my lunch, and a piece or two of extra clothing if needed for bad weather. Just rolling from home to train station to work then reverse sequence. This piece of "luggage" cannot withstand the basic task for which it was, supposedly, manufactured. Now, i have to rush shopping for another piece so i can protect my back. Thankx for nothing. I would like a reimbursement, please.

Cost effective for the quality.
I bought this expecting to need just one suitcase and ended up with five matching pieces — not a bad surprise at all. For the price, the value is fantastic. The set includes a range of sizes, so there’s a bag for just about every travel situation, including airline-friendly carry-on options. Whether you travel light or heavy, this set covers it. Durable enough for regular use, plenty of space, and surprisingly well-made for the cost. If you want one purchase that solves all your luggage needs, this is an easy yes.
