Decent smoke filter, but has flaws.
This is now my 6th Sploofy replacement cartridge since changing from the Smoke Buddy. My roommate and I share 1 Sploofy and it has done its job. It is well worth spending the money on a 3 pack instead of a single filter. The estimated 300-400 uses is generous; it varies on frequency and how many exhales you do at a time. We have noticed they last about 3-4 weeks with daily use. The trick is to form a good seal with the mouthpiece and to fully exhale, or you will have some smoke escape. The round mouthpiece is much more efficient and comfortable than the rectangular one of the Smoke Buddy. (And much less wasteful over time, as the SB is about $20-30 each at local smoke shops and can’t be cleaned or reused) My car and our apartment don’t smell and the discarded filters show how much resin is trapped. Overall I am pleased with the Sploofy compared to the Eco420 and Smoke Buddy which do not seem to have the same quality or last as long. We have tried using dryer sheets, cheesecloth, and coffee filters to try to extend the life of the inner filter but they block the smoke and cause it to leak when used. Every week we take it apart and clean the plastic case to remove resin buildup and reduce lingering odors. We have experienced 2 bad filters right out of the box. Smoke was leaking profusely and the odor was very strong. Amazon was able to replace them and all I needed to do was drop them off at Kohl’s to handle the return and shipping. This was on two separate incidents several months apart, so I am glad that Amazon can quickly resolve the issue. Update Feb 2020: We have received 2 faulty, leaky filters out of the box back to back. At this point we are keeping the less “stinky” of the two to use as we research a competitor’s brand. Unfortunately this is happening too often, not sure what is going on but the quality and odor proofing is not the same. We have had friends comment that they detect an odor for the first time since we started using the Sploofy, so it may be time for a change.

Without question, THE BEST personal air filter on the market
I have plenty practice and use with personal air/smoke filters. Ever since I came across the smoke buddy a couple years ago, I have been using one at ALL times. About 9 months ago, I was about to order new Smoke Buddys after I had went through 2 original's in less than a couple of weeks & so I was looking around for an alternative when my friend stumbled across the sploofy. I proceeded to try out the sploofy v2 and fell in love. It had a replaceable filter, it had WAY better airflow when brand new (compared to the Smoke buddy) and lasted considerably longer. Since then, I have exclusively used sploofy's and was stoked when I came across the release of the sploofy v3 as it's wider, has absolutely outstanding airflow and lasts RIDICULOUSLY long!!! If you want a personal smoke/air filter, do not even THINK of buying anything besides the Sploofy v3. It's cheaper, has a replaceable filter (which makes it EVEN cheaper), has the best airflow (as far as breathing through it goes) & it lasts longer than all the others. p.s. if you want to extend the life, after using each time, take a paper towel and put it inside the mouth piece up against the filter to dry out any moisture (moisture is what causes ALL charcoal/carbon filters to get clogged and lose its airflow throughput) Hope you find my review helpful and feel free to ask any questions!

Works well but needs drying for vapor
I’ve been using the Sploofy primarily for vape/e-cig use. Overall, it works pretty well at reducing odor and visible vapor when it’s fresh. The build quality feels nice, and when the filter is dry, it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. That said, after about a week of regular vaping use, mine was completely clogged. I’m pretty sure this is because vapor from e-liquid carries a lot of moisture. Unlike smoke, it’s basically warm water vapor mixed with aerosolized particles, and that moisture seems to saturate the filter quickly. Once the filter is waterlogged, airflow drops and it feels blocked. What fixed it for me was drying it out. I put the Sploofy on top of a fan so air blows directly into it. In my case, I have a room air purifier with a HEPA filter that exhausts air upward, so I just set the Sploofy on top of that and let the airflow run through it. After it dries out, airflow returns and it works well again. So if you vape, plan on having a way to dry it between uses to “recharge” it. One more vaping-specific issue: if you use it for vape and then set it down with the mouthpiece end on a desk, moisture can drip down and leave the mouthpiece area wet. The obvious fix is to set it down on the opposite end, but that end isn’t flat (it’s rounded) so it tends to wobble/bobble around. What I found works better is removing the rounded outer shell and using the actual flat filter body inside as the base when setting it on a table. That keeps it stable and helps avoid the moisture pooling/dripping issue. Bottom line: it’s effective, but heavy vape use can waterlog it fast, so drying and how you set it down makes a big difference.

Exactly what I needed!
I've had my Sploofy for about a month now and it's a lifesaver! I recently moved into a non-smoking building. Previously I was in a building that allowed smoking, but cigarette smoke makes me extremely sick. So I can't exactly complain about moving into a smoke-free building, except that I use cannabis daily to help with depression and anxiety. I asked my management if ALL smoking was disallowed? Their answer was basically "vapes are a thing, but if we get any complaints, we'll have to say something." In comes Sploofy! I purchased another brand's filter before I discovered Sploofy. I decided to go for it despite just having bought a personal filter. Not only is it sleeker than the previous filter, but it's also more comfortable to use, more discrete, and just well thought out in general. I love how it reduces the smell. (Now I just need to find a solution for the actual bowl! haha!) When I read reviews of the Sploofy before purchase, I read one that stuck out a bit to me. The reviewer mentions that they had to construct something to hold their Sploofy upsidedown to air it out as suggested. My question to that reviewer, did you even try seeing if it would stand on its own before constructing something for it? When I received mine, I realized the base seemed shaped similar to those glasses, bottles, and toys that are balanced never to fall over. So I just gave it a try, and it had perfect balance from the start! Also, as others have mentioned, it's awesome that the filters are replaceable & eco-friendly. I still have the other brand's filter that I'm now using as a filter for guests, but as soon as I can, I'll be getting another Sploofy!

Does exactly what it claims
During this time of crushing constant stress, I admit fully, I've slowly gone from occasionally eating a gummy, to adding flower to the list of things I can be a bit of a snob about (thank you California for legalizing it! It's been pretty useful, given the aforementioned crushing constant stress, also known as 2020). I'd just been smoking on our patio, because my wife sadly HATES the smell of weed - until we were hit with that 100+ weather a few weeks ago, and I knew I needed a better solution (thank goodness, too, since then the air was semi-unbreathably bad air quality due to the fires, and now we're back to another heat wave, yay!) Googled how to smoke inside without the room smelling like smoke, and here I am. I tried making a makeshift version first (it was garbage), then I ordered this right afterwards. From what I could tell, there are pretty much two companies making these - this one is more expensive than their competitor, but I went with it due to the replaceable cartridge (the other one I looked at would make you throw away the whole thing). Only been a few weeks, so I haven't had to change it yet obviously (I've been using it way more than I'd like to admit, but not *that* much) - but it's nice that it's there. It is monumentally easy to use, it fits comfortably almost anywhere, and I like how classy-but-nondescript it looks when not in use (you could totally mistake it for some sort of budget smart speaker). And of course, the most important part: it works! Granted, it's not necessarily foolproof, depending on your chosen device, since it only captures the air you breathe, not any smoke that might escape while you aren't breathing it, but *between* this and spraying an air freshener afterwards, my wife no longer complains (as long as I remember to use the air freshener). Which is great, because I've been graduating to more expensive weed, and smoking it outside would be wasteful!

Looks great, works shoddy
The design is beautiful, the packaging was designed with care, it LOOKS like a great product. But, the mouth piece is pretty much useless. The shape let's a lot of smoke escape out of the sides of your mouth, no matter how you place your mouth on it. I was really excited about the replaceable filters after being a die-hard Smokebuddy user, but it's just not worth it. It does the task of filtering the smoke just as well as the Smokebuddy, but with so much of the smoke not even going into the filter, it's subpar to say the least. Buy a Smokebuddy instead, they're cheaper, have more options, and work much better. They also come with covers for the mouthpiece, which the Sploofy does not, and with the mouthpiece of the Sploofy being the part you set on less-than-sanitary surfaces it would be a good idea to include one. Solid attempt, just need to work on the follow-through.

Smoke smell absorption is great
No complaints- does what it says it does- REDUCES the smoke smell. I read some reviews where people say it doesn’t eliminate the smell but NOTHING in existence will capture all of the smoke when smoking. Reduces the smoke to the point that paired with a room air filter or just burning a candle while using will do the job - pleased with the results
