Excellent vent fan
I bought this to replace an old, noisy, and inefficient fan in the bathroom. I couldn't be happier. Our handyman installed it quickly and found it simple. It is incredibly quiet -- we can barely hear it -- and very powerful. There was not a hint of condensation on the mirror following my morning shower. Quite a contrast to our old one.

Super Quiet. Well made. Satisfied.
Arrived on time, as expected. Super <super> quiet. I install blower fans a lot and know what to expect. But this was my first with .3sone ~ virtually silent. This further tells me about their engineering choices, and the prospective durability. I had a question about output, contacted CS. Wow! Exceedingly helpful, beyond expectation. Thank you Amanda! Old style customer service. I'll look to Kaze first when I purchase each time. Nice selection of output/ sound / cost options. And I'm grateful to be treated with respect when I found a hitch with my install.

0.3 sones? Not! An ok fan but maybe more expensive than it should be
To those with the reviews of "so quiet you couldn't even hear it" - This is clearly NOT TRUE. While it doesn't sound like a cessna about to take off, it is a fair bit noisier than my other panasonic fans - which I can BARELY hear. I did use the supplied reducer to down size to fit my existing exhaust pipe - but my panasonic's also use the same size ductiing. Now that its in - I'm living w it - its still better than what it replaced, and its the kid's bedroom. I will be splurging to get another panasonic for the master bath. The instructions were not so clear - the bracket attaching to the duct hooks in UNDER the fan bracket. Hook it in, THEN slide the fan housing into the bracket.

Works great, super quiet for the volume it moves!
Bought for a remodel, turned extra bedroom in to handicap accessible bathroom. Knew we wanted a high volume, low noise fan. This one really fit the bill. For the amount of air it moves it's incredibly quiet! I installed a roof mount exhaust vent prior and hooked it to that with insulated duct (we're in Illinois so the attic gets really cold in the winter). I also put some 1/4" thick, self stick foam weather strip on the bottom metal flange that lays on top of the drywall for additional vibration reduction. Works great, super quiet!

Very quiet but I would rate this at a 1 Sone, not a 0.3
Installation requires access to the area above the ceiling. In my case it was through the attic. They do have EZ install models that can be done from below. This is NOT that model. That said, installation was very easy. We cut a larger hole using the included cardboard template. We put the mounting rails in the slots on the fan. We then set it over the hole. There is a flange around all sides that will rest on the plasterboard from above. Once in place we secured both rails to one side. We then slid the fan all the way to that side and secured the other side. Lastly we slid in in place over the hole and secured the rails with the provided screws. Since this sits on the plasterboard, the rails are just there to keep it from moving and as such do not have to be too strong. We then connected the 6" ductwork to the fan and connected the power. All went together very easily. From the bathroom side it is a larger vent than most bathroom fans, but it's low profile and looks good. The first test during a shower proved that it can move a lot of air. No fogging on the mirror at all. Another test was that we turned on the fan, took the cardboard template and put it up against the grill and it was able to hold the cardboard up with no problem.

Plus! Extremely loud
Very very very loud ! Not worth it. After installation and making cut in the ceiling to fit it . We notice how loud it is. Defintley not 0.3 sone.

Noisier than the numbers
Noise level when installed without ducting is nearly silent. When 6" ducting is added and a little back pressure is added, this fan is rather loud. It rattles and changes pitch with changes in airflow. Fit and finish is nice and it moves a lot of air.

Holy smokes is this thing QUIET!
First thing I did when i got the box was hook it to a test plug and turn it on. I had to check the blades to make sure it was working! Really moves the air, and the motor ramps up to keep the airflow going at 100cfm - adding the reducer or blocking the airflow cause the blades to spin faster. Installed it (super fun refit of a 40 year old NuTone that finally gave up) and asked the wife to hit the switch to check the power and she swore I screwed it up because she couldn't hear it! Did remove the back flow flapper because our existing duct work has one in place and the slightest air pressure difference causes it to bang around. Probably the only really cheap part in this. Super pleased with the unit so far, hope this one lasts at least as long as the old one. Edit: did some db measurements with and without the 6->4" reducer. For 6", the measured in room db is +10db, which equates to 0.3 sones - spot on the advertised rating. Putting on the 4" reducer cranks up the db to +35ba, which is around 1.8 sones. So this is probably what's got other reviewers upset with the noise level - the reducer collar makes the fan speed up to keep the same airflow. Putting this in a wall will force you down to 3" which will only make it worse.
