Is it toxic in any way?

Yes it is. Use in well ventilation and use mask or respirator. Does cause you to be nauseous if breathing the fumes. It is great stuff tho and is a little messy if using on small parts. Best dry film lubricant on the market. The over spray does get everywhere as it is a very fine Powderly film and will wear very very well on parts and seals the pores of the metal. Good luck just don’t breath the fumes

Can this product be used with steam systems, in particular autoclaves for door gasket lubrication?

I don’t know the operating temperature. Look on the spec sheet. Or the can itself. I haven’t used it I. High temperatures.
