SkinGuard Men's Razor Handle + 2 Blade Refills

Got this razor for my son’s first shave. Big moment. Emotional. I almost handed him a rusty machete just to toughen him up, but decided to be a decent dad instead. Enter: Gillette SkinGuard. A great shave overall. And a wonderful solution for sensitive skin, especially for seniors. The perfect shave angle. Gives me a great shave with no nicks or irritation. Lasts through multiple shaves, even though I have a rather tough beard.

I'm skeptical about product "innovations." I tend to find something that works and stick with it, for years-decades. I'd tried 4-5 blade razors before and found them too fat and awkward to use. But this is an exception (even though it really only has the two blades separated by a cushion). When it was clear my traditional two-blade model was being manufactured more and more cheaply, causing cuts and nicks more often than not, especially on my aging skin, I was willing to give this a try. Amazing. I shave in the shower with no mirror, all by feel. After a few tentative tries with it, I'm now sold on this special Gillette model. It feels as close as my old one ever was, yet I have no worries of bloody cuts, nicks, or burns. Cautiously also tried the little single blade at the top of the reversed side of the head. Worked great under nose and at sideburns when done gingerly. I can shave against the grain of the beard without concern. I hope they don't get me addicted to this then have some marketing genius who decides to discontinue it or cheapen its production in the future to increase profit margins. And, yes, this is more expensive, but seems worth it.

First couple blades were great. I don’t have a very thick shave. These give you a great value but don’t get as close a shave as I would like. Leaves skin smooth with no burn.

This razor is very gentle on sensitive skin and causes much less irritation compared to regular multi-blade razors. It provides a close shave without pulling or razor burn, even when shaving frequently. The handle feels solid and easy to control. Overall, a great option if you want a comfortable, irritation-free shave.

wow! i had very low expectations given poor experiences with disposable blades in the past. i have curly part African hair and can get ingrowns easily when shaving my head. i’ve tried many many different kinds of razors and trimmers. so far the best have been double edged safety razors and Andis or Walsh outliner / detailer style trimmers. i tried this gillette out purely for travel as it’s difficult to fly overseas with DE safety blades. anyway cue my shock when it turns out this gave perhaps the best shave of my life. pretty darn close without being too close for ingrowns. zero irritation! no stinging when washing off shaving cream. no cuts or nicks which was super common for me when using single blade Bic “sensitive” razors. plus each blade has a slippery gel bar on it that helps tremendously. the third blade on the side helps with around the ears. this also worked really well for some “manhood” grooming… if you know what i mean lol. anyways if my experience sounds like yours, you gotta try it. the only downside for me is the refill price is high. just know that it might be worth it. ultimately this goes to show what a big company’s R&D department can pull off.

These Gillette 2-blade razor blades are the best I’ve ever used. They solved all my sensitive skin issues like ingrown hairs, redness, and bumps. They give a close shave, but not as close as some cartridge or double-edge razors, which actually works better for my skin. I’ve tried many razors, and these combined with Cremo barber grade shaving cream have radically improved my shaving experience. Highly recommended for anyone with sensitive skin looking for a smooth, irritation-free shave.
