If I buy a SONOS Connect, will i need a bridge to connect to a wireless speaker? Or does the COnnect allow me to connect to wireless speakers itself?

The Sonos Bridge is not needed. The Connect works with your home WiFi network with any 802.11b/g, 2.4GHz broadcast capable router. It also works on SonosNet, a secure AES encrypted, peer-to-peer wireless mesh network dedicated exclusively for your Sonos system to reduce WiFi interference. Additionally, the Connect has a built in Network bridge. It is a 2-port switch (10/100Mbps, auto MDI/MDIX) that allows Ethernet devices to connect through SonosNet. This allows up to 2 wired connections to the back of your Sonos Connect for a TV, Xbox, etc., giving them wired network access from your WiFi connected Connect.

If there an audio delay issue between using a receiver/speaker and SONOS Play simultaneously, where sound between rooms overlaps?

I'm running a Sonos connect digital out to Musical Fidelity X-24K DAC then MF XA-1000R integrated amp through B&W CDM-1 Speakers - when I play music in party mode through the house there is no delay that I can detect.The rooms definitely overlap - we have a Play 1 in the kitchen which is open to the Dining Room where we have the Connect which is in turn open to the Family room where we have the Play 5. All awesome!

Dumb question. So I connect this to my multi zone receiver to run prewired speakers in my house, how does the Sonos know what room to power?

The sonos connect will stream the music to the receiver you have it connected to. If you have more than one connect tied to multiple receivers then you can select the connects and what the stream from your controller on your computer, your phone, or the purchased controller. You can synchronize two or more of your connects so that those systems are playing the same media in sync.
