Not Horrible, worth the $$, but water proof them & add gel insoles
These are light weight and fairly cheaply made, but I still love them. I water proofed them and put gel insoles in them and they have survived several days of wear & are still going. I bought a size medium & I wear a size 11 boot & these fit perfect. If you buy these don't expect a super high quality boot, but they are still worth a google.

Comfortable and Cheap
I bought these boots for a Renfair outfit since I needed approvable garb to work it. It was a pretty decent buy. Yes the boots were approved ( Renaissance Pleasure Fair - the most demanding of them all to which I have been/ they are extremely strict for appearance and costuming-garb) Product: About a Mid Calf or Slightly taller boot. -Inside is lined with a plastic, so it doesn't absorb moisture, but keeps moisture out as well. A little bit slippery at first -Outside is a Synthetic Micro Suede, passable for any fair goer. -The rear side for tying the boot has grommets (metal/aluminum) that go through the boot. There are two sides : : (the lace goes through/under the boot/to the other side) - These have become very poorly made, and after the first day of fair (8 hrs of walking and standing/working) they started to come out. Each Time I lace them up every weekend for fair, another grommet comes out. (this isn't really a big con since it doesn't really compromise the integrity of the boot. But it is a bit lousy for workmanship. But for the price I cant complain. -The sole is a pretty flat flexible rubber. There is not grip on it so don't expect to go hiking with it. i noticed after the second week of using them, My right foot sole was coming unglued. Not a biggy, i only use them for one reason. - The Sizing is ok. Im a size 9 1/2 - 10 1/2 on normal boots. The 10-11 size was a bit large at first, but when walking and getting used to the boot, I nearly forgot they were on my feet. Once properly fastened, they stay on. The tip of the shoe is very long. So expect over a inch in extra space into a boxed tip. -In case you were wondering, there is three parts to the boot compartment. The Left and Right side (where you seed the ties) and a Middle long tongue that goes up the boot. I have not tested the waterproof, but would guess they work pretty well for moving water around instead of in the boot. -The tying mechanism is quite intricate. The grommets : : and then the main button that you see (is not a snap on button) but has a piece of the fabric rolled into a knot. The lace is tied around this not, and you pull the lace through the two grommets to tie the boot. This is the most difficult part. because there is no natural way to tie the boot. You have to get help to tie it, or sit on the floor with your leg bent to your side to tie it. I can actually walk at the end of each day. It isn't as bad as some other shoes I had for fair. For the cheap buy, and a quick fix until you get something else, these would be pretty well for the task.

They work fine
Good to wear when you need it for a ren fair but I have to say they are not the best made. Definitely not my favorite but they worked for what we wanted them for.

They lasted all day and were comfortable. I'll be able to use these for at ...
My review is very much similar to others. I bought them to wear at the Renaissance Faire. The boots are "halloween costume" quality, not intended for long-term wear. The cushioning is minimal, so I put in insoles. After the insoles were in I wore and walked around in them all day at the Faire (9am - 7pm). They lasted all day and were comfortable. I'll be able to use these for at least the next few Faires. Definitely recommend. UPDATE: These boots are still going strong after several ren faires and a halloween party.

Not true to size and returns are horrible
We bought a pair of these boots for our son. The boots were not true to size and didn't fit him at all (they were too small). We inquired about returning them and were given a return label, but also advised that they had the right to charge a restocking fee. Long story short, between the cost to send the product back and the restocking fee, we weren't happy. Amazon also proved to be no help on this, so in the end we donated the boots and bought from Minnetonka instead (directly). The Minnetonka boots fit perfectly and between the two pairs, the Minnetonka appear to be much higher quality. I would not recommend buying these. The cost of the better boots was only about 20 dollar more and a much more satisfactory experience.

looks, ok, feels not ok.
I'm thinking that the black color of these is the main aesthetic reason to why I don't like these shoes. I think if I'd received the brown ones I might have preferred their color. These shoes will not stand up to multiple uses, I anticipated walking so much in my costume for the event that I bought them for that they never even made it with me to the car. My pair still look brand new because they were so uncomfortable in home. You can feel every bump through the thin padding, and it's just no support at all. If you were in a play or something and you needed these for indoor use, I think you'd be fine. I tried to wear mine to a renaissance festival and realized that was a bad idea from the beginning.

Look good and feel good!
Excellent boots for Bristol Renaissance Faire. Walked the whole faire, 30 acres a dozen stages back and forth and my feet felt great and they look amazing - several compliments. The customer service is also phenomenal. Get these boots for your costume!
