Works As Expected
I purchased this to replace an older Snap-It brand that is apparently out of business. It functions the same with the same wiring. The only thing experienced that threw me a curve was the Eaton has a Dusk-to-Dawn feature that causes the light to stay on at night. The instructions indicate in the trouble shooting section that in that situation, it is in the Dusk-to-Dawn mode, but nowhere else in the instructions is Dusk-to-Dawn mode mentioned let alone how to even get into that mode. I found that omission in the instructions a little disconcerting as it caused me a period of difficulty as the older Snap-It had no such feature although the units are essentially identical in looks. I didn't subtract a star for that but that is something Eaton should fix in their instructions because with some unknown sequence of operation of the switch, it activates the Dusk-to-Dawn feature although if it is in that mode, you turn it off for 40 seconds to exit that mode. Nice, but how does it get in that mode? I have no need for that Dusk-to-Dawn feature as the unit runs a relay and not the lights themselves and I have a manual switch that will turn them on or turn it off or turn the auto switch on for automatic function.

Great sensor!!
Excellent sensor, I installed behind my shed with two 65W lamps 10 feets apart from the sensor. The sensor works better than I thought, get me 180* far away. Also gets rabbits and little animals around the area. I was tired of buying junk from Home Depot, they all cheap, so I decided to build my own with this sensor in the middle. No problem with rain and snow, the manual recommend set it up facing the ground. Easy to set up, attached the black to power from the breaker and the red to the black from the lamps plus the neutrals and ground. Manual is clear and easy to read. Note . I bought this sensor second time and I notice the material is different, the plastic broke but I managed to set it up with two yellow lights. The first one I got still picking up cats, dogs all night long.

Just what I wanted.
It is not without it's faults but it works perfectly for me. It seems as though there is a two second or so delay before the sensor triggers the lights, that is fine with me as I am protecting a 50' long driveway, so there is plenty of time for the delay to time out. I think this may even be a plus as it should cut down on false triggers like birds flying by. Another issue is the short neck that attaches it to the light fixture base, I would rather have a longer angled neck so that the sensor is completely below the light sockets. This one mounts directly in between the 2 light sockets, I was worried they would block the view of the sensor, but I have such a narrow area that it is watching, it did not affect my installation. I also bought 2 18W (100W incandescent equivalent) LED spots to use with it, now I'm afraid planes flying by may mistake my driveway for the airport. I keep my work truck in the driveway, my money maker, and if anyone wants to pry on it now, they can do it in broad daylight. Peace of mind at a fair price, better than spending at least twice as much for a new fixture, how can I complain?

works well but don't short or overload
I have two of these working the exterior stairway lighting. One located at the bottom of the stairs. The other at the top. I was skeptical when one review mentioned that the output was a dry contact relay. I overloaded one of the senors and it stopped turning off the light. Curious, I took it all apart and sure enough there is a small circuit board relay that switches the load. Just be cautious, the relay output is very light duty. In my case, too much load fused the contact. Maximum load is listed as 300 watts. My fault for being over the rating. I have since ordered another sensor and replaced my floodlights with LEDs. Giving it 4 stars because one of the sensors is not as good at sensing movement. Sometimes it will work at quite a distance, then the next time you have to right up next to it. However, these sensors do the job for me and for the price they seem like a good option. So far, about a month of operation on them and they're doing the job.

Motion Sensor for My Driveway Floodight
This sensor was not a "replacement" but, instead, was part of my new installation of the pole-mounted LED floodlight over my driveway. The pole also houses an intercom and a numeric touch-pad which activates our motorized gate. This sensor mounts through a standard 1/2" knock-out and causes my light to automatically illuminate those items for visitors to see after darkness. Doing the expected job of activating the light when it detects motion after dark, this sensor keeps the light on for the duration that I set for it or as long as there is motion. On the package containing this sensor, "tungsten" was indicated, but it works just fine with the LED light above it, which produces far more illumination per watt. The sensitivity and shut-off delays have ample adjustment ranges for my needs. Since this is a new installation, I have no experience with how long it will last, but currently it is performing as expected.

NOT FIT FOR USE.. Arrived as USED
product arrived before the expected delivery date; this is a good point. The product was 'used' as noted by the unsealed box, wrapping and frayed wires used to connect the device to a lighting load. The product is substandard as this unit is NOT made to fit most, if any threaded hubs; as it does not allow the used to use the most obvious application; I know, I'm an Electrical Engineer and Electrical Contractor for over three decades. DO NOT, again, DO NOT attempt to modify your existing electrical set-up; use another company's product which fits the use it was intended for ! AVOID THIS ONE>

Perfect replacement
My OEM sensor was failing to turn the light on occasionally. This unit returned my motion light to like new condition. Easy to install.

Rinse, repeat...
I have two outdoor security lights and have to replace these motion sensors approximately every 2-3 years. Before Halo, I used Heath/Zenith brand with about the same outcome.

Installed this on the back deck, where the wife walks to the garage for her car. It didn't tale long to set it up so that the range and sensitivity were what we needed. It comes on within 2 steps of either the house or garage door, stays on for 2 minutes (which we want) but doesn't come on when the leaves are blowing off the trees. A cat can set it off, but thats ok. Works well, thank you

Really nice simple unit, direct replacement for my original one. Really simple to setup and seems to be of good quality. Most importantly the wires are a standard color black, white and red

Mike from Ottawa, Ontario The Cooper Lighting MS180 appears to function as intended. However, one draw back is that you cannot set the sensitivity, because the device does NOT have this feature. Also keeping in mind that the instructions state that only one of these sensors can be used on one switch and I believe this to mean one circuit also. The red LED light ... technician stated that it will only function (blink) when something comes into the target area. That it the only time you will see this light illuminate. Pretty good 'bang' for your buck.

Sensor replacement took a bit of work but operates well once up. Great way to keep exiting motion detection LED light operational.

All happy with product. Use near indoor garage not having to put switches on and off always. Great!!.
