DoubleStop XL Male Guards for Men, Case/72 (4/18s)

Latest update 2019 April Well you continue to amaze me as I conquer my incontinence following radical prostatectomy last Nov. My lovely wife dived in to identify the best products to assist with incontinence. Northshore ended up on the top and following the first use of DoubleStop Male Guards. Now having spoken to your staff most recently X Top for Men Incontinence Pouch is way cool. I have been gaining a handle on my incontinence and this pouch is amazing freedom. My suggest would be to maybe provide 2-locking tabs to allow for a larger opening in which to fit the appendage. One has to fold open the pouch to do a "proper" fit but I must say, it's amazing. Let me know if I can beta test other incontinence products similar to pouch especially if you come out with version 2. Thumbs up! ======================================================================================== 7 weeks out of radical Prostatectomy beating out Prevail and Depends pads for men. Holds the most liquid then all the others AND it has a small apron to assist a male appendage from falling outside the absorbent material. Worth every penny to minimize embarrassing accidents.

Had the radical prostatectomy 1.5 weeks ago and now need a little help with the leaks. I've tried several of the leading brands but found them lacking in several ways. These Male Guards from NorthShore are the best. They add a little bulk but the tradeoff is the confidence you won't have a leak in a public setting. They are conformal meaning the part that leaks is contained neatly in the absorbent materials. The company that makes these, NorthShore, is a first-class operation. They ship nearly immediately and use discreet brown boxes and expedited shipping (the purple and orange guys). So the product gets 5 stars and the company gets 10 stars. I'll suggest you try the small sample pack first to know if these will work for you.

THIS IS REALLY TWO REVIEWS: DOUBLESTOP XL: Received a sample of 2 DoubleStop XLs: Very comfortable, nice and wide & long like no other guard available. They are also absorbent. BUT each failed to hold to the inside of my top quality Hanes briefs. Insufficient adhesion--insufficiently wide adhesion strip. Both times guard slipped down or rolled over from the top. Northshore needs 1) add a 2nd strip across top of the guard which would eliminate roll over and slippage off while wearing; 2) increase width and adhesiveness of the strips; 3) the total absorbance of the pad should also increase---it seemed less than expected. DOUBLE STOP MALE GUARD: This is working very well as long as I adhere two guards inside the brief, one slightly overlapping the other, wider at the top and narrower at the bottom. Together they make for sufficient width and sufficient absorbency in a days or day and night's wearing. I am pleased thus far. Good substitute for other brands (CVS & Depends) and for actual underwear style by CVS that I have worn for several years without problem---except for what seemed to be a heat rash or allergic reaction recently.

I bought these during the pandemic when the Tena Super Absorbency guards were not available. The Northshore Doublestop XL's are similar in shape and comfort, but they are more expensive than the Tena product and unlike the Tena, they more easily leak at the bottom. The Tena guards are woven tightly around the edges and have extra plastic at the bottom to prevent normal leaks. The Northshore pads lack this tight weave and extra plastic and so have a tendency to leak at the bottom as they gather more liquid. Bottom line, I do not have confidence wearing these outside, maybe just inside where I can pay more close attention to when they need changing. This is an easy design flaw fix, but until that is addressed I do not see myself buying these again. Otherwise they are okay, and they are wide which I find very helpful.

Terrible and overpriced. I'm glad I only ordered a starter pack because these are the worst I've ever tried. And I have literally tried them all now. These are a bit too narrow but the real problem is the fact that the adhesive might as well not even be on them because it doesn't stick. And when it gets a little bit wet it folds over and I end up leaking on the backside of the thing. It's almost identical to another brand that I tried a couple years ago which was also an abject failure. Think long and hard before you spend your money here.

Received product promptly. Folded size is no larger than other guards. Not bulky to wear. Covers more area than regular guards with excellent moisture retention for confidence. I photoed the difference for your comparison.

I have been wearing male guards of some sort since having my cancerous prostate removed in 1996.. That is over 22 years of experience with constant, heavy leakage and wearing these types of male guards.. In fact I make it a point to try new male guards as they come on the market. I am not aware of any brand or style of male guards sold by Amazon that I have not tried. I have only been using these NorthShore DoubleStop Male Guards for several months. I must say, they are every bit as good, perhaps better, in my experience, as are the more popular brands like Prevail and Depends.. They are head-and-shoulders above the Tena guards and other similar pads.. These NorthShore DoubleStop Male Guards have a better catch and contain system than any other guard I have tried. They seem to hold more liquid and have much less of a tendency to overflow and leak around the edges than other varieties. I am hoping these NorthShore Male Guards remain as effective as they have in the short period I have been using them. At this point, based upon my success with them, I plan to continue using them.. I certainly do not hesitate to recommend them for others to use.
