This item has been fabulous for my son. He has cerebral palsy and needs an air mattress like this to help prohibit bed sores. Medicaid would have taken forever to pay for it, so we just went ahead and bought it for him. I have laid on it and even though you can still smell the plastic it is made out of, it is not so overbearing. It fills up with air evenly; however, this is the 2nd one he's had as the first one had several pin holes in it from his nursing staff being careless with changing his sheets due to bunching it up...

My mother was in hospice care. Her bed was giving her sores. I bought this and she loved it. Helped a lot.

I like the mattress except I don’t feel the air flow like I did the original.

I've purchased these before for a disabled relative that sometimes come to my home for holiday visits. I've also purchased one for him to take home and first of all, there was always some glue and repair patch included with the purchase which was helpful if a hole would exist. This time I purchased two; one for his Christmas gift to take home and the other one for my home when he visits me. However, the first one had a hole already existed because it would not completely fill up and we could hear the air seeping out slowly. We found the hole and attempted to repair it when I realized there was no glue or repair patch included with the one opened so we looked inside the second one and still no glue or repair patch. I had to use the second one and it is not filling all the pockets either but so far we cannot find a hole in it. If the glue and patches were included, I would not have to send one back. I would like to replace the one I want to return provided I get the glue and patches with the replacement one. This is such an inconvenience for me because I would have to ship the new one to him once I get it replaced because he was only here for X-mas and this was his x-mas wish. I will have to rate this shipment with one star as a result of this however, I must say I was very satisfied with the ones I purchased prior to this one and I will continue to buy them if necessary; if the glue and patch is included with the purchase.

30 years of paralysis, never had a bed sore from laying down. Love this matress/pump idea as its easy enough to travel with. thx for keeping the price low.

Doesn’t come with pump- had to return

My pad only lasted about two years. While it performed wonderfully, it sprang first one, and then a second leak along the seams. These were impossible to repair. I tried the patch kit that came with it, the kit for my cushion, and even bought a bicycle tire repair kit - all to no avail. I have subsequently bought TWO new pads (so that i won't be without one, should the one i'm using spring a leak), and at about $20 apiece, i figure 2 years is probably getting my money's worth. The new pads are from a different manufacturer (altho neither had any identifying marks, so i can't tell you that). It seems that pretty much all the alternating pressure pads have the same diameter hoses, but make sure before you buy, because you cannot return them. I suspect that because I have a lot of difficulty getting into bed that I may have put undue stress on the seams. Someone who is able to just lie down may not have the same problems. As a precaution, I now wait until after I have gotten myself positioned to turn on the pump. The pump (should you wonder) still works, altho for some reason it no longer lets the air OUT and i have to disconnect the hoses in the morning. Be aware that you can buy the pads and the pump separately, although not without quite a bit of searching on the internet.

Really helps prevent bed sores for people who are mostly in bed and unable to get out much

Amazing product. I purchased one for my husband who was getting bedsores and it took care of the problem. I purchased another to help with hip problems and it works well. I can sleep through the night now!

The vinyl quality is very poor, and leaks and holes occur within less than a week. Do not recommend purchasing this product.
