Great book! Straight-forward, no drama, no politics or agenda.
This book has lots of information, and it's much more than just a "puberty" book. In fact, that's only about 32 of the 150 pages. Other topics include general personal care (pimples, dental care, BO, etc), healthy eating, exercise, being safe online and in real life, developing good study habits, dealing with stress, drug use, and so on. I am completely baffled by some reviewers who complained that this book was full of "left wing ideologies". That is patently false, and they are intentionally misleading you. I don't think they actually read the book. I suspect they noticed the author is non-binary and are review-bombing. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I've got the book open in front of me and I cannot find any mention of gender identity or sexual orientation. Are they upset about a book for girls that talks about consent and boundaries? I just can't find much of anything in this book that seems to have an ideological agenda.

For the single father's out there. I would give 10 stars if possible
For the male prospective. I know you just wish you can get a plunger and push those boobs back in but that would be child abuse and we're going to move away from that. The new world of female development into a raging ball of hormones and genitalia and breast development... Ohh God help me.... This book may have saved my life.... If you see blood one day from your daughter bottom, don't rush her to the emergency room. You might have to look around and find the first woman for this kind of help. You single dads, are you equipped with the right needs. If you do not have a woman you can trust to talk to her (cousin girlfriend some sort of relative) then continue reading... First step, have a nice adult beverage of your choice. Next up look at your little girl and know that she's never going to be the same. Next step read the book... In combination with adult beverage. Take breaks as needed. Now that your armed with the tools to talk to your daughter. Don’t shy away from it. You need to do it or she will get her information from the Internet or friends. It's a time of great uncertainty and confusion. She will probably be insecure about how she looks and the changes. Be commutative and available to talk. She's going to need a lock on her room. Let her know that, she is growing from a lovely girl into a beautiful young lady. Hearing that from you is essential. She’s going to feel awkward having this conversation with anyone, let alone you.. After some talks, you can give her the book. Now this is going to hurt... Your daughter is going to date and do things... This is where you need to think of boyfriend deterrence.... Think about the scene in the "50 cent scares boyfriend - Den of Thieves" movie. You can find it on YouTube. And good luck!

Excellent book!
This is an excellent way to start those tough talks about puberty. Easy to understand, but also thorough. This was really helpful both for me and my daughter.

My daughter is about to turn 10 and has started asking questions and this book is very age appropriate. I’ve read it through and happy to leave her to read as she wishes. Very basic knowledge and guidelines. Doesn’t discuss sex at all but does discuss boundaries. Doesn’t explain how a baby is made but does explain changes to the body emotionally and physically as much as a 10year old needs to know. Also gives a little advice about social topics, home and school. Recommend!

This isn't the first book I've bought for my daughter like this, but the other one was aimed more for younger girls. I haven't read this one through completely but I do like the information more in this one. It covers all the areas of puberty and body changes, but also topics like mean girl cliques, online bullying, personal style, how to speak with adults you don't really like, how to better understand your emotions, trying to get along with parents and siblings even when you don't agree with them, braces, glasses, etc... I don't think there's truly a magic cure-all book that will cover periods and puberty to really gets a young girl to the point where she's ready, but it's good to continually talk about it and at least it won't be a super surprise - this book helps by letting you just ready what's on the page (if you or she is uncomfortable otherwise) and you can go from there answering questions or just letting her have access to the book afterwards to check in as needed.
