Dodge Jeep Ram Padlock

They look and feel sturdy but when I keyed the, for my Toyota I have to yank on it to unlatch, it used to pop open on its own, but now overtime I have to give it a good yank to open it once the key is in. Still works just not as smooth after sitting outside for a few weeks. Would definitely buy again though maybe just needs some lubrication.

I bought two. They worked right the first time and it’s a relief to not need (lose) a key for the locks on my truck and trailer.If you’re on the fence, and this could be useful to you: buy it.

Great lock. Looks robust.

Lasted about a year outside before it started having issues. After that it had trouble opening, and closing until one day I had to pull on it so hard the shackle released from both sides. I could not get it back together and had to buy another one.

No extra key to keep. I am sure it is not the best security lock you can buy, but the fact I can program it to my Jeep is wonderful! Easy to program.

So I ordered three of these a month ago. One came with the sticker off the bottom of the lock but it still took my key to set the lock and functioned fine when I tested it a few times. So I put it in my dump trailer control box. I took a load of trash/roofing stuff to the dump and went to open the control box and the lock wouldn’t function. I tried 20 times as I’m in line and taking others time up too. So I went to the truck and got another key, in case some reason it wouldn’t work with the key I had. Nope. Tapped it with a hammer a bit, nothing. So I had to leave the landfill. Go get a bolt cutter for $99 which didn’t work, so I had to take it home and grinder cut the lock. They wouldn’t take the bolt cutters back as the blade is scuffed after trying to break the lock with it so I understand, but still another trip back to the store. Then I had to go back to the dump and get rid of the load and back home. I started at 7 and got back at 3, for a job that should have been back at 9. Plus I’m out 2 hours of gas, and $99 for a set of bolt cutters that I’ll never use.Horrible. I mean why make this if it doesn’t work sometimes or did I get a defective one. I know I won’t put the other two on anything of importance away from a grinder.

I like the idea of using my truck key

This is a great product, I have several Bolt locks now and have had no problems setting them up to work with my Jeep key.One key for everything!
