This USB Otoscope does work as it says it will
I needed a USB otoscope to inspect my ears myself. I have tried others and this is the only one I have found to work. I was very pessimistic and pleasantly surprised when I tried it. Some reviews say not to use this item due to possible ear damage. However, specialist ENT doctors have reviewed this item and it is safe but you MUST USE THE SPECULA. If will also be very difficult to obtain a good picture without the specula fitted. I initially thought it was not going to work but you need to raise and lower the camera and move it back and forth horizontally in the ear until you get the perfect view down the ear canal to the ear drum. I could then tale crystal clear photographs of the ear canal and drum by a click of the mouse. I have had to have ear syringing for 40 years due to a noisy working environment. This camera lets me make a quick check of the ear fairly regular so that at the first signs of wax I can put in some drops and remove the wax naturally. This prevents the build up of hard lumps of wax which take some softening. This device will prevent me needing syringing in the future which is great as many GP practices are now refusing the service. This camera may take a few minutes to get used to, but it is like learning to ride a bike or swim. When you get it to work you will have no problem to keep repeating it. I can assure you this camera will work, if at first you think it will not, you just need to persevere. Great piece of kit.

Need to learn and practice movement. The camera image is opposite to movement
I found the edge of scoop where it in on the camera sharp edge and filed this down, The focus is the length of scoop and nearest point and hairs can get in the way of the image. I also noted that ears go at an angle and would have liked a spreader to open the ear entrance up to allow an easier angle of attack. Tricky to use. If you touch the ear drum it hurts and made my wife jump. Seeing the wax without the scoop was easy but with it was more tricky I think because it bends easily. This is and small camera others I have seen are larger and I cannot imagine using them as a bigger size. Picture quality is good you have to clean the lens if not. I was sent an update says does not work on I phones.

Great image, 3.9mm diameter is the largest I'd recommend for an Otoscope
I can confirm the great image quality within the focal length specified (2-3cm) and would highly recommend getting a 3.9mm diameter borecam (as this one is) for inspecting the ear canal as anything larger is too big really. My right ear was entirely blocked with a milky emulsion of earwax and the left had less material as a hard crust but with this I can be sure that both ears are totally clear now and my hearing is great and should stay that way for some time. Highly recommended. Also, if you're having difficulty removing soft ear wax in particular then drops of olive oil, allowed to drain after 10 mins, left overnight, and repeated may work; but if this is followed by careful syringing (with a 3-spray nozzle designed for this) then this is very likely to work well. For hard wax scraping can get the cleanest result but this is not easy to do correctly and it is unfortunately really easy to make the ear canal sore as it is not completely straight and the sides of the bend are likely to get rubbed repeatedly.

Does the job fine. Works in Linux.
I find this works pretty well, although it can be tricky to adjust the camera to get a good view of the inside of one's lug-hole. It's thin enough to get inside the ear canal and, because the focal length is about an inch, you don't need to put it far inside to see down to the ear drum. It's definitely a good idea to use the provided plastic cone (you get three of them) to stop it going too far in. It runs a bit warm if the LEDs are turned up too far, and you get picture glare, so turn down the brightness for comfortable and effective results. It's fine for checking how waxy your ears are, but I would forget about the little plastic scoop as a wax removal tool. Drops and a syringe are safer imo. Techie bit - I'm a Linux user (Ubuntu 20.04) and it worked straight away - it appears as a source in VLC Media Player. I had to pick sources until I found it but it wasn't exactly difficult, you just keep selecting /dev/video0, 1 etc until it works.

Doesn't work with Android 10
The app you are asked to use with the device doesn't work with Android 10, neither the Endoscope Camera nor the Endoscope HD, on a Pixel 3 phone.

NEVER, EVER POKE ANYTHING INTO EARS, ESPECIALLY CHILDREN'S!
This is a potentially dangerous tool that shouldn't be on the market. Sticking ANYTHING into ears can permanently damage them. Ears are delicate. Please don't risk it.

The app does not work on mobile, at least on samsung note 9 android 10. It crashes all the time. But other usb camera apps work. Camera is good for the purpose. Not the highest resolution but good enough. Overall satisfied. Lots of improvements should be done on software side... next version would also benefit from higher resolution camera... and the LEDs get a bit hot. Another improvement could be a case to keep it packed after use. The cardboard box it comes on is less than ideal to store it.
