Inomata Plastic Japanese Bowl, 9-3/4-Inch, Clear

I bought this for straining rice after soaking. But I find that I use it for so many other things. Works great for washing lettuce. Also soaking potatoes for fries.

This is a flimsy plastic bowl with a drain vent on one side. The holes in the drain vent are small enough that grains of rice will not go through them. Put rice in the bowl, fill it with water, swish it around, and pour the water out through the drain vent on the side. Repeat a few times. When used as directed, this bowl may last a year or two. I used to have one in red. Now I can only find it in clear. I would gladly pay $20 for one of these made of stainless steel. There is a version of this bowl which has drain holes in the bottom. Don't get that one. The water goes straight through and doesn't rinse the rice.

I only recently learned you are supposed to wash rice before cooking with it. I tried using a regular strainer and clogged my sink. Tried to find a smaller-holed strainer and this thing works amazingly for washing rice, and fruits and vegetables too!

The rinsing bowl is an outstanding product that perfectly comports with my culinary expectations and needs. It's properly designed, well made and hyper functional. Having perfectly sized draining holes (for Rice) on the side rather than the bottom of the rinsing bowl is a perfect example of exemplary design and superb functionality. Additionally, the bowl is exactly as described and was shipped as requested. I'm very pleased with my purchase!

This is a rice washer. But the rice grains get caught sideways in the slits that allow the water to run out. This is not a well thought out design.

Easy to rinse rice and other fruits and veggies. And nice size.

The drain holes should be round, not long, so rice don’t get caught in it.

とても使いやすいです。他の商品のザルタイプと迷ったんですが、しっかりと水に漬けて洗えるので、やっぱりこのボウルタイプにして良かったです。サイズも5合分がが入る大きめなので、それも良いです。水切り部分もお米が逃げず、米粒が挟まる事もなくとても満足してます。

研ぎやすく、かなりスピーディに水を切れます。おかげで楽になりました。

数十年、これの小さいヴァージョンですが愛用しています。大き目が欲しかったので買い足しました。小さいものは100均に売ってるので10年に一度くらいのペースで買い直ししてますが、壊れたわけでもなく、只なんとなく買い直してるだけです。数十年毎日使ってても壊れない汚れない（擦れは致し方なく・・）。数十年前から同じ形のものが売っているので非情に有難いと思ってます。自己評価ですが、一番使いやすい洗いやすいすすぎ易い100点満点の商品だと思ってます。
