Symbol LS2208 General Purpose Handheld 1D Bi-Directional Laser Barcode Scanner, Black

I am using these with the Square register and they are working great. Fair warning these are 1D scanners, so no scanning of 2D codes like QR codes. I wish the Square terminal supported a wider range of scanners as these are older tech and there are advantages to new tech, but these fill the bill nicely.

This is not working, They don’t work.

This is a fast-scanning, accurate, programmable scanner. I've used the cordless scanners in the past and have been frustrated with a delay transmitting from the scanner to the base. This wired LS2208, while it may be an older model nowadays, is still a very reliable 1D barcode scanner. I use it to catalog items and using the 123Scan software, it can be programmed to help automate other tasks. Since it uses a USB connection, I can't recommend this scanner enough for shipping products, yet affordable even for home use.

Solid and realiable. Most important to me... I had no trouble as a software developer, creating an application that communicated with this device. There was plenty of documentation available for protocols.

just started using yesterday and it works well. The only reason I rated 4 stars is because it is a bulky. I would of bought wireless but didn't want to spend that much money. This was very easy to setup also.

very good barcode scanner - cheaper scanners do not have the capabilities needed for GS1 barcodes. Look for 123Scan2 utility on the internet to program the scanner. A 374 page PDF file is available BUT 123Scan2 works fairly well. Also, youtube LS2208 videos.

This barcode scanner did not come with a stand. On the advertising pictures, it shows there is a stand come with it. I think this is misleading for consumers like us expecting the stand since it is showed. If I know there is no stand I would like purchase it but I need it asap.

I've used the Symbol LS 2208 for several years now in seven different stores. Always dependable and seems to resist damage when dropped by sales clerks. Shipping was extremely fast on this one and I have no complaints.

One of the better scanner available I bought a few Brandless ones and realize it doesn’t work with most POS system This one works well and fees more well built

I will give it a 0-star review if I could, the product never worked, pitifully, I did not try the product as soon as I got it, but it doesn't work, neither in a computer or an Square sales point we have, I`ve tried to change the cable and all the configurations in the PDF manuals none of them works or work intermitently, I know the product is refurbished but I think they dont make the seller dont make the proper quality check before take it out to sell. If you decide to buy it, Be very careful and try it the same day you receive it

some bodyly damages and looks worn out but still worth the price

Ive bought 5 of these so far for my shop. They scan bar codes very well and were easy to set up. The laser also picked up very long barcodes. Definitely worth the money.
