When I heard Boney M's version with the new lyrics blended into the old song, it became my favorite "non-traditional" Christmas song. I finally broke down this year and ordered the CD to put on my new iPod (yes, I'm just now jumping on the iPod wagon) Even though Christmas is behind me, I'm still listening to the CD. Good music is good music any time!! I love ALL the tracks on the CD and feel there isn't a "stinker" in the mix. The bonus "newer" version of "Mary's Boy Child" on track #19 is done predominately with young children singing and I even like that version as well. If you are looking for something that feels fresh and new, try this CD. If you even half way claim to enjoy music with a Caribbean or Jamaican flair, you won't be disappointed in this CD!! another Amazon cracked case..
Other than that, it's expected by now that a case will be cracked, this is another great Boney M musical outing. Wonderful and enjoyable as is everything they have done!

A New Christmas Classic
I like so many others bought this because of the way Mary's Boy Child/O My Lord caught my attention. I always consider it a true joy to risk buying an album based upon one song only to discover two or three (or as the case here) a complete set of treasures. BoneyM has taken so many hackneyed classics and turned them out in fine fashion. I played this from beginning to end on its arrival and then set the player on repeat. Four hours later I decided it was probably my favorite Christmas album (tied with Jon Anderson's Three Ships) in the "modern category." I can't imagine others not finding at least half the songs here engaging, traditional and yet remarkable in their fresh approach. Most will find it a top to bottom Christmas delight!

Christmas With Boney M
I have gotten this item in December 2007 and I loved it. So I decided to order 2 more in December 2008, BUT they weren't the same as the one in 2007. So I tried again this year and I put the UPC code in and it came up that they had at least 3 in stock, so I ordered them and when I received them THEY were the right ones this time. You will love this CD I PROMISE YOU. I listen to it everyday and when I went in the hospital I took my boom box with me and this CD and another CD called "What a wonderful Christmas" by Anne Murray. I listened to both of these CD's at least 4 or 5 times a day and the nurses and my roommate loved them. The UPC Code for the "Christmas with Boney M" is 886971403220 and the UPC Code for the "What a wonderful Christmas" by Anne Murray is 724382033523. I have most of the songs from "Christmas with Boney M" in my favorites from YouTube.com. Unusual and Beautiful Treatment of Christmas Favorites
Christmas With Boney M is a wonderful rendition of various Christmas favorites in a haunting but beautiful West Indies/ reggae/calypso style. My all time favorite Christmas song and the one that would make this CD well worth the money even if it were the only song on the CD, is "Mary's Boy Child/Oh My Lord. If you have not heard it, I wish I could share it with everyone who reads this -- it truly is a beautiful and haunting melody that paints the majestic story of the true meaning of the Christmas story. A unique and inspirational Christmas album that belongs in the collection of every lover of spiritual and secular Christmas music!

One favorite song
Wasn't familiar with the group when I heard an absolutely beautiful Chrismas carol over the radio. I ordered the album because of that alone... and was not disappointed. The group peaked in the 90's and is from West Indies. All the music, including my song, "Mary's Boychild," has a kind of disco-reggae beat and tempo. A number of secular holiday songs were less inspired, but there are a number enjoyable tunes. Of course, I'm happy just because of the wonderful recording the one carol. Interestingly, this song opens the album and plays again at the end.

Best Christmas music ever!!!
This is the best Christmas CD, in my opinion. I bought this to replace my broken CD cuz I can't do Christmas without it. I can't listen to it without singing along and dancing. The Jamaican(?) / Calypso beat and their voices just make me smile!
