Bought this to prevent my flag getting tangled. Initial thoughts: Been in place for a couple of hours and almost all the time flag has been twisted like a rolled-up umbrella (see picture). Rated 1* Update: Efficacy of the device probably influenced by wind speed and direction. Having been badly tangled on a number of occasions, the flag has subsequently freed itself. Perhaps needs a steadier wind, rather than occasional gusts, for the device to work better. Conclusion: will not prevent the flag getting tangled, but probably helps getting it flying again. Rating increased to 4* as the price was lower than other similar devices that I considered.

These fittings would have been good but they didn't fit the flag pole which was recommended.

I fly a Welsh flag in my garden much to the annoyance of my English neighbours especially on match days (rugby) LOL. Like all flags they tangle , this little device works ninety percent of the time even in strong wind. The clips that come fitted with the device rust quite quickly and are not very strong . This is the second one I have purchased so I now know all of the bad points. The other problem is the sun destroys the plastic making it very brittle and prone to snapping. On the good side my previous one lasted just over a year before breaking , and was repaired using the melting in not water plastic repair stuff you can get on this site. The price is good just over five pounds a year is not an expensive outlay. It's very easy to fit as long as the circumference of your flag pole isn't larger than the device a slightly smaller circumfrance can be used as in my case I just wrapped some gaffa tape to make up the difference. I also used plastic garden ties to replace the clips that came with it. I found making using the ties enables you to have the flag sit a little longer distance from the device and pole which helps with keeping the flag from tangling. It's a great device but could be better the materials used to manufacture this device could be more robust considering it's being used in all elements. However that is reflected in the price. It works really well even with a heavier duty flag . So a good buy to prevent flags tangling in the wind.

I bought this product to stop my England flag from getting tangled.. it seems a lot better now I bought these tangle free flag mounting ring clips. I have noticed the clips seem stiff and tangles sometimes I would still recommend.

Good for spares as I have read that they break easily after several uses. They do not like heavy rain and strong wind.

Liked the easiness of putting together, as for how long they last .Really not to sure maybe a year if heavy winds. The clips are rather feeble for their intended use. They do tend to tangle, however they always untangle after awhile. Good value for money, however next time will be brass .
