I purchase a Camelbak Kid's bottle at REI about a year ago. I loved it. It never leaked and my kids ranging from 1-5yrs old had no trouble using it. So I bought another two on Amazon recently. Oddly, my older one started spouting out water when I flipped the straw up. I thought maybe the straw was getting old. But, then the two new ones that I purchased started doing the same from time to time. I don't really know why. All in all I still like the product bc it doesn't leak in my bag and that was my number one major concern. The spouting water part maybe bc the straw is getting old or maybe it's because i have been filling it with ice water and maybe as it warms there is a pressure change in the bottle. Also, I only use it for water. The mouth piece is hard to clean so I think if there was milk or juice stuck in there was a period of time, something might start growing in there. If that does became a problem, I have a small straw size brush (I purchased at babies r us to clean kid straws) that works well to get any grime out.

Better than most sippy cups
I decided to get my daughter this cup after she took over my Camelbak bottle. She is 19 months old and currently likes this cup better than any other sippy cup. I like it better because for the most part it doesn't leak. I did drop one star for two reasons. The first being that some water does sit in the spout portion and that can leak out if the spout is accidentally hit. The second being that it is really nasty when backwash gets caught in the spout. Most times if you can flush it out by turning it upside down and squeezing the spout to let the water flush it out, but you will need to do it over a sink/trashcan or outside. Overall the design is cute, the cup does what it should and my daughter likes it.

I really wanted to love these water bottles, but...
I really wanted to love these water bottles. The stainless steel ones we used before had narrow mouths and were really difficult to clean. I thought the CamelBak BPA free plastic would do the trick and they are so cute! However, one big problem is that the bottle has too many pieces-- bottle, lid, straw, valve. We purchased 3 bottles, one for each child, and we can never find all of the pieces we need to put all three bottles together. Sometimes my toddler or preschooler get bored in the car and pull off the valve or straw. Sometimes the pieces get misplaced after washing. It is pretty frustrating and for that reason we'll probably go back to our 2 piece stainless bottles.

Awesome, but...
These are perfect little cups for little toddler-sized hands. They hold cold drinks and are perfect to hand over in the car or to take to the park. They'll usually survive a diaper bag without spilling. Leaking on the other hand...well, it's not quite so leak-proof (like most kids' cups). First, NEVER put a carbonated beverage in this unless you want it to explode all over you and your child. And yes, that will happen in public if you're ever-so lucky. Second, if it's been a while since the cup was open, untwist the lid quickly before handing it to your child to relieve some of the pressure in the container or it'll come squirting out. Otherwise, this cup is amazing for kids. We own two and will continue to buy Camelbak products.

Leaks
It only leaks when my son pushes the bite valve down into the cup, he's 2 and loves drinking out of my 1L Camel Back Better Bottle, but it's a little big for him to carry around. The kids bottle is also the only one with this design flaw. Even my 1L Eddy Bottle doesn't have a way to push the bite valve back into the bottle. Other than that and having to watch him with it so my living room doesn't get drenched it's a great bottle. The frogs fascinate him, he's always pointing out the bugs and showing me. It's a great way to get him to drink more water.

Great water bottle. Just don't write on it using permanent marker
What's the first thing you do with a kids water bottle? Write their names on it using permanent marker.I did this on the bottom of this water bottle. But when my daughter placed the bottle on the leather seats of our car, I was left with a permanent imprint of her name on the seat. Could not believe it! Fortunately, I was able to get most of the mark off using an orange cleaner--it definitely wouldn't come off with soap/water. I used the same orange cleaner to get the marker off the bottom of both these bottles--it came off easily.Just a buyer beware fact that you should know.

Bought it because he wouldn't leave mine alone
At 16 months of age my son just wouldn't leave my personal Camelbak alone. I was always having to share and it got to the point I couldn't have one sip of water without him running up to me wanting some as well. Don't get me wrong, I am glad he was staying hydrated, but it was clear he needed his own.We purchased the frog sippy. The spout on this is slightly different from the adult Camelbak in that the bite tip cannot be removed by pulling it off, but rather pushing it down which is not exactly easy to do. This can be great if you have a kid determined to take things apart like mine, but a slight hassle when cleaning. There are no choking parts; all of the pieces are nice and large so you don't have to worry about that, nonetheless the recommended age on the packaging says 3+.On a final note I have found that my OXO Tot Bottle brush with nipple cleaner works wonderfully on cleaning all the pieces. The nipple cleaner on this product is unlike anything I have seen before and gets all the nooks and crannys on this sippy cup very well.

Terrible valve design - Leaks
I bought two of these for my 20 month old girls because they kept wanting mine and would not share it with the other. I ended up sending them both back and here is why: For whatever reason the valve design on the kids version is different than on the adult version. The bite valve is one large piece that extends all the way inside of the cup and at the other end is the plug that holds the liquid in. The problem with this is my girls would play with the bite valve and by doing so they would sometimes push it inward which in turn pushes the whole piece into the cup and allows the liquid to pour out. They would constantly have wet cloths whenever I took it away from them because it would leak so bad. I also noticed that even if the valve was in correctly it would still drip pretty good when I held it upside down. I never had any of these issues on my adult size version, but the bite valve has a different design.
