Aphid Free Tulip Tree.. Acecaps save me $300 annually to avoid a Aphid infestion and sap mess..
I discovered Acecaps a few years ago while looking to keep a 50 foot tall Tulip tree from getting fully infested with Aphids. Previously a tree maintenance company had injected insectide for about $300 annually, and that company changes hands over COVID, and then wanted to do a "tree inspection" and all kinds of fun misc services I did not want or need to just do the annual injection. Since I have to do this annually, after finding Acecaps I was thrilled to learn there may be a do-it-yourself option. The good news, Acecaps work extremely well for killing Aphids. You want to buy them and insert them into the tree prior to the warmer Summer weather. Late Spring seems to be best for my application. You will also want the drill bit and a cordless drill per their instructions, nitrile gloves are helpful to not get any insectide powder on your hands, also the Acecaps have a pugent smell. I recommend opening the package only outside, for real on that one, and then follow the directions to drill the holes around your tree to put the Acecaps in. Be sure to put the Acecaps in far enough into the tree, so that you allow the outside bark to full heal and cover the holes in the long term. The next day you should see less aphids, and for my application I do not see any aphids after four days. Acecaps are great a value for do-it-yourselfers, you need to know how to use a cordless drill, and if you have a helper, makes the application that much easier. Have one person drill holes, while the other inserts the Acecaps. Takes about 15 minutes each year for me with a helper to apply all 25 for my Tulip tree. Next year will be my 5th year aphid free thanks to Acecaps.

If you've got elm beetles, this is the ONLY product you need!! Amazing.
I have had the most horrifying time trying to deal with elm beetles. My yard becomes inundated with them- in fact my giant elm's leaves look like lace by July. Not to mention the mess they make on EVERYTHING. I've tried so many different products & they would work a little but the tree is just too big. So I decided last year to get injections for it, however did not use them until this spring. Not only did my tree have a growth spurt, there's barely any beetle activity- that only just started recently, until a week ago I hadn't seen any. That in itself is mind-blowing but this tree has never looked so good. Still has all its leaves, it's full & provides a beautiful canopy that I can stand under without beetles dropping on me. Will buy this from now on, will NEVER use anything different!

hopefully they work against the pine beetle
I installed these in about 20 large pines to prevent and hopefully kill pine beetles. I have lost many already and figured i have nothing to lose if i install these in the ones that are still green and alive. Some of my pines are difficult to get to because of where they are growing but i managed to do it. These implants are easy to install. just drill a 3/8 hole at the correct depth and tap in. Since the bark on some of my trees was exceptionally thick, It was a little difficulty to gauge the correct depth but i did the best i could. I installed 375 implants in all. I might also treat the surrounding area with a chemical but i hadn't decided yet. This is almost 3 acres of old growth pines and i have love quite a few and this is a last ditch effort to save these beauties. I cant really do a 5 star review yet unitl i see results. I still have other pines that are only about 8 in or less in diameter that havent been treated yet and the 3/8 implants are too large so im just hoping they wont get infected.

Works wonders
Worked on our trees. This last summer we had lots of new growth and no more signs of an infestation.

👍
Easy to use. It will take time to tell how effective they are.

Don't know if these are effective, but quite difficult to use.
Must drill a hole in the tree for every caplet. Hope they are effective after all that work.

May just save your tree
My tree is over 40 years old. Two other neighbors are and have lost the same type of tree. Being in AZ. I wanted to see if I could save my tree in order to keep my shade. After researching what would be most helpful, I was unable to find a local seller. The other items guidelines were to pour a liquid at the dripline. Common sense to me said that was not going to reach the tree roots. Drilling into the bark made more sense. I did have to use gauze to wrap around the tree to hold the pellets in place. We have cut all the dead branches off and drilled holes at the drip line to give the tree fertilizer. Thankfully we had some rains that helped. I treated the tree in July, and it is now Oct. I have seen some new growth, which I am praying that the tree can come back. When I tried to purchase the item locally, I was told the product is good but new items come on the market and people think the new product is better. He was sure that people would once again request it so that they would stock it again. Wish you the best on saving your tree. If my tree does not die in the next year, I will let you know.
