Not a Bean

I purchased this book along with the actual "beans" (also sold on Amazon) and it was a hit! My kids loved it, and we gave some away along with the book because it explained the "Mexican jumping beans" so well - which in fact are NOT A BEAN lol. Great book, must read for curious littles!

Just an O.K. book for an 8-year-old. Some sentences are written in Spanish. Does not explain the jumping beans as well as I expected for a kid's book.

A thoughtful story that teaches a few words in Spanish while teaching the life cycle of a particular moth. I only wish it reminded children that the Mexican jumping bean should not be bought and sold because the moth often does not survive.

I really love this book. It’s great for kids who love bugs. Lots to learn, even some fun Spanish words. Fun to read out loud. If I could give it more stars I would!!

Love the illustrations as well as the story. I purchased together with some little boxes of actual jumping beans for our 2 1/2 year old grandson. Although not a board book, it is simply written and can be read by parent and a young child together. Fun, unique gift.

The book is a nice informative book on the Mexican Jumping Bean. It tells it in a story for young children. If a person doesn’t know how to read Spanish it may be a difficult read as it does have both English and Spanish words in the story. As a former teacher I thought the Spanish words were a nice touch but I still didn’t know the correct pronunciation of the words.

My daughter & son love "Not a Bean" and I love reading it to them. I would like to see more from Claudia Guadalupe Martinez and Laura Gonzalez.

This book is a great gift to go along with the Mexican Jumping Beans. Very informative and educational in a fun way for children.
