Chemistry 7th Edition

This book has been a pleasure for me. It has the basics, plus lots of sidebar and highlight material when you get bored with the basics. The problems follow from and reinforce the points made in each chapter.The explanations are crystal clear. For example, moles are introduced by the analogy of buying jelly beans.... you have a pound of jelly beans and, knowing the weight of the average bean, you know the number of beans. Don't think it can get much clearer.While I certainly agree with those who those who dislike overpriced textbooks, remember that God gave us amazon.com to deal with this problem. I bought the current edition for 1/3 the list price.

Anybody who does not own a copy of Zumdahl's "Chemistry" is missing out. This textbook on Inorganic Chemistry is a masterpiece, with excellent explanations on many concepts and supported by colourful illustrations. It is a must for anyone who is serious about Chemistry (from Junior to University levels). I have to give this book 10 out of 5 and I thoroughly recommend it. Cheers from Australia - Henry

I bought this book because I tutor chemistry students and I wanted a reference. I used a different edition of this book for my college (lower division) chem. class. It is a very good book for a 1st chemistry class; it covers most all chem. topics but not in depth. I found it pretty cheap used version. Fast shipping

The book was in great condition. The previous owner made a few markings in the book, but they were actually helpful. Zumdahl is an easy read chemistry book. I would recommend this chemistry book to those who do not have a strong background in chemistry.

This arrived packed nicely and was prompt. The book was exactly as described condition wise. I recommend using ISBN search option to ensure you get correct edition etc. That's how I did it and it is exactly what was needed.

I used this book for General College Chemistry and I would like to say that this is possibly the worst Textbook I have ever used. It is poorly written and is quite hard to follow. I would recommend that you purchase an adjunct Chemistry textbook, if you are going to use this one. This text gets bogged down in a lot of the details of Chemistry without providing good examples to help the student in understanding the fundamentals of general chemistry. This book was used with my first go round of Chemistry in undergrad, but I ended up dropping the class, as the text, coupled with a labyrinthine instructor, ensured most of the class participants demise. Only one student got an A, the rest were far below that. After this experience, I quickly learned that one must research various texts to ensure one's success in class. My second go round, I was much better prepared for the task at hand. I ended up with a B+. The research was worth every minute of my time. Make sure you find the right text book that will enable you to succeed.
