What's the difference between artemisinin and wormwood exactly?

Artemisinin is standardized extract of wormwood, which means that it is a concentrated, most-potent form of wormwood, without anything you don't need, and with always the same amount of stuff you do need. This means that when you buy wormwood, you don't really know what you are getting - even if it is the "real thing" it may be completely useless as there are no guarantees with any of those botanical preparations. However, with standardized extracts, such as artemisinin, one knows exactly what one is getting, as in this case: 100mg of artemisinin. Does not matter how, or from where, or why - you get what you pay for. Not so when you buy ground up wormwood which may or may not be potent. Since I have tried both, I found that wormwood pills did nothing compared to artemisinin, so this is not only money well spent, but the only thing to get. In case you didn't know it - artemisinin is also a medication, and the only reason we can still buy it as a supplement is that it is entirely from natural source. There are very few such supplements that are cheap, readily available, and also used as prescription medicine and this is one of the main ones. It has been used in Chinese medicine for ages, but only recently it was discovered that it has anti-malarial properties so it is used to treat malaria.
