Alomst too good. Worth buying if you don't like the heat indoors.
I purchased the evaCHILL to combat the current high temps both day and night. The product arrived quickly after ordering, was easy to set up and works as expected. I did find it a bit too cold at times, but this was with the device placed not that far away from me. If you position it in the right place and use the right fan speed setting (depending on the current conditions), you can get a really nice, refreshing breeze on you. The blue lighting is a nice touch also, especially being able to turn that on and off independently from the fan itself. I would recommend this to somebody who needs cooling down in hot temperatures.

Completely pointless
Completely pointless. The air coming from it is cooler than a fan, however you need to be about 5cm from it to feel anything.

Not worth £100
I was lucky as paid just shy of £50 for this which imo is the very max of what it's worth. It does a decent job of keeping you cool as a desk fan and is nice and quiet barring the top 2 settings. It appears to be very well made and is an attractive, compact item to keep on your desk, especially with the nice ambient light. My only concern at the moment is replacement cartridges and their cost but for now I'm reasonably happy with the purchase and it is keeping me nice and cool. It's decent and does its job but it definitely is not worth over £100 though and I would not have bought it at that price.

Excellent Small Device
Good small machine for cooling down your personal bubble. Living in an apartment with huge floor to ceiling windows, it easily reaches 30 degrees in here. My computer pumping out heat doesn’t help either. This machine is excellent at cooling down my desk area! My desk area is a much better temperature (it doesn’t get super cool but it hasn’t definitely cooled it down) it has satisfied my needs anyway. It’s not going to cool down a whole room, or more than a desk area. It’s just good for your own personal space. I got it on offer for £50 and find it well worth the money, not sure if it’s worth £100.

Helps a little - but don't expect icy cold
This isn't a bad little device and definitely helps when positioned very close. In my case it has been positioned a little less than a metre away from me on a desk set to the 2nd from lowest setting. At this level it is pretty quiet and does seem to help a small amount. Because of the water being slowly added into the room it also doesn't dry out your eyes as regular fans do. I found that adding very cold water (from the fridge) seemed to help slightly although the reality is that this isn't powerful enough to lower the temperature of a room in the really warm weather. It just makes the air very close to the cooler slightly more pleasant. If you want something just to help a little then this might be worth a shot, but if you really need "proper" cooling when it gets really hot, then look at air conditioning instead. Finally, I got this for well under £50 and when you see the inside of the device, that honestly seems at the high end of where it should be. I notice that today it is significantly more expensive. I can't honestly recommend this unit at the current price.

Portable and easy to use
Absolutely love our new air cooler. I move it around the flat, literally taking it with me to every room. It is a great solution if you enjoy cool air and your partner does not like when it's cold in the room. We used to have a big air conditioner, but occasionally would catch a cold from it. This one gets the temperature just right to make it cooler but not freezing. I like its design cause it looks really modern and its blue lighting makes it even more charming. But my fav feature is that it's portable. Its definitely the best thing for an air cooler. Happy about the purchase and would recommend it to others.

works like a charm.
amazing little product! works just like having your own little A/C unit on your desk. i used 1 bottle of 'Smart Water' from out of the fridge when i filled up the tank with water. it is virtually silent on setting #1 it does blow nice cold air onto you. it is far better than a fan that just blows warm/hot air onto you.

Great until it isn't
I purchased my 2nd Evapolar in February after the fan on the first wore out and started to rattle. I didn't mind the extra outlay because the Evapolar's evaporative cooling had helped keep me alert at my desk through two hot summers. Come July I pressed the new Evapolar into action, and all was well until one morning I switched it on and soon heard the sound of water dripping. I have multiple transformers and yards of mains cabling under my desk, for 2 PCs and their peripherals (I work in IT). The Evapolar had spontaneously begun emptying its entire reservoir over the side of the desk, despite never having been dropped or abused in any way. Water was running down a mains cable when I spotted the problem. Luckily I was in the room when the Evapolar started to leak, or an electrical fire might have been the result. I politely requested a repair or replacement from Evapolar, but only received an automatic acknowledgement. Despite chasing up several days later I've still not had a reply from a human. Needless to say, I'll be steering well clear of Evapolar in future, and would advise anyone reading this to do the same.

No hace ruido. Mínimo consumo de energía. Contras : ninguno

I thought this might have been another one of my failed purchases but it does exactly what it says. It can cool a small room - even my study that gets the afternoon Australia Summer sun was noticeably improved. You have to be patient as it will take a few hours to improve the room. It’s not going to give you the chill of a split system air conditioner but it makes the room much more bareable. The only thing the manufacturers should work on is a) having a light-free operation considering it’s a personal fan and will be used right next to your face on the bed side table. B) developing a quieter fan when on high - but I think this one is just being nit picky on my part. I think the low setting is super quiet but so weak I wonder that it might not be for cooling, perhaps it’s purpose is more to slightly humidify and improve the air quality (you would have to put it next to your face while sleeping... if you can stand the light shining on you!). The medium setting is reasonable for cooling the immediate area if you like white noise to sleep with, like I do. You could have it on your bedside table on this setting. The high does the best job but is pretty loud so I put it about 5 feet away from my bed as it can wake me otherwise.

I recently ended up with a $900 electric bill thanks to a week of 110 degree days in sunny California, so I decided to look into some alternatives to running central air all day. This little guy seemed to be the most well-reviewed out of all the options for portable air conditioners even though it still had an overall 3.6 rating, but I decided to give it a try. Having tested it out, I gotta say it actually works better than expected and I think some of the negative reviews have had issues for easily avoidable reasons. 1) This is not made to cool an entire room. That's not the point of it. This is for someone who wants to cool down their bed while they're sleeping or set it on their desk to cool down while they're working or maybe place in a corner of the kitchen while cooking. Basically, it's for when you're spending a lot of time in roughly the same spot and don't necessarily need to cool down your entire house. 2) it doesn't work wonders for the first 20 minutes or so. The water needs to soak through the filter cartridge because the water evaporating in a (ideally) dry climate is the science behind cooling the air. Until that happens it's basically just a little box fan. I get the impression some reviewers tested it out for 5 minutes, concluded it doesn't work, and wrote their review. Give it at least 20 minutes and you should definitely notice that it's pushing out air a good 8-10ish degrees cooler than the room temp is. 3) because this relies on water evaporating, it works better in drier climates. If you're in California, Arizona, New Mexico, etc this will work great. If you're in a humid place like Florida, you should frankly leave. 4) Based on what some have mentioned in terms of its air pushing capabilities, it seems like they maybe don't realize there are multiple settings. At its lowest setting I would say they're right: you basically need to have it within 12 inches of you to even notice it's on. However it has 4 settings that you cycle through by pushing the button on top (and there are no other buttons, it's pretty fool-proof). I think the 2nd setting is probably what most people would use while sitting it on their desk or beside their bed (higher settings might actually make you cold at that proximity). At its highest setting it's a bit noisy (like a PC fan at full speed), but I think it would actually be sufficient to cool a *small* bedroom at that level. If you have something like a 10×10 space or smaller and you don't have high ceilings, this might actually work for cooling the entire room at its highest setting. In a larger space, however, just remember this is made to cool you down while having it a few feet from you, not on the opposite end of where ever you are. I just did a little test and you can feel a cool breeze from 8 feet away at its highest setting. Beyond that you probably won't notice much effect. Also, I didn't notice this when I bought it, but it plugs in using a USB cord so you can power it with your computer or plug it into a power bank and take it on the go. It also only uses 7.5 watts which is literally 3,492.5 watts fewer than the average Central air system. That's not a joke or a typo. On a related note, I've seen some claim the price ($79 as of writing) is a bit steep, but consider that for anyone who works from home or stays in the same area for large parts of the day, this will allow you to kick the thermostat up a few degrees without sweating through your shirt, and then you'll save pretty substantially on each electric bill. It can pay for itself in one billing cycle if you let it, and after that it's actually costing you money not to have one. Overall, I'm perfectly satisfied with this purchase and it actually performs better than reviews had led me to believe. Just remember it's made to cool a roughly 10×10 area or smaller, not your entire estate. If you're ok with that, you'll love it.
