Q: can the glass be removed for cleaning

No I don't think so, although in all the time I've owned it there hasn't been a need to. It cleans very easily from the inside and out.

Q: is there room at the back for the gas pipes from the hob ?

I’m not dite what you mean as this oven is electric. It has a three pin plug at the back that should fit where the previous one was: that’s if you’re replacing it. The oven normally sits underneath the gas oven hob, where it slides in. I hope that’s helpful but if you’re concerned about it you can send your specific concerns to the manufacturers via Amazon. Just go in your account and find customer services.

It doesn't beep on reaching temperature but the thermometer symbol on the display goes out.
