MSR Women's Lightning Ascent Snow Shoes

I am so happy I bought these snow shoes, and got them at an excellent price on Amazon as well! I always do a lot of comparison shopping online, in the stores, and on the trail when possible. I love that the teeth are a part of the frame itself, not going to be any problem with them, ever. the deck material is lightweight but strong. The buckling system is by far the easiest to do with gloves on compared to other styles. Easy to get on and off and they stay put well. The tiny extra amount of weight compared to plastic shoes or those with tubular frames is well worth it for me as I feel these will definitely hold up to whatever I put them through on the trail. I would suggest this product to anyone who is looking to buy snow shoes that they plan on having around for a long time.

I bought these when we bought a house on a mountain pass. I knew we would have very deep snow to contend with and snow shoes would be as mandatory as a snow blower for the driveway. I ordered these based on reviews. Functionally, they are fine. But the rubbery straps with their designated holes don't give you much flexibility for adjustment. One hole is too tight, and the other hole is too loose. The straps are pretty flimsy and way too long. Have no idea how long they will realistically last. I would return them, but I'm sure too much time has passed.Update:. Have used for 2 seasons now. My assessment is the same. Functionally they work. But the straps are very cumbersome. My husband bought the same type and his strap broke last year. Would never buy these again.

I have snowshoed for a few years on "entry level" shoes and decided I do enough of it to warrant a quality pair made in the US. I chose this style because I do "aggressive" snowshoeing at high altitudes with a fair amount of climbing and ice. These make me feel like a mountain goat. I will say that if I were in a different area where the snow is customarily powder, I would have chose something different but these are great for icy and steep conditions. The first time I used them I lost the little hook that holds the end of the strap down. I wrote to MSR customer service and they did not respond (surprised me). A month later I wrote again and received at no charge, not just one replacement but about 6 of them.

First, yes I am a guy rating a women's snowshoe. Bought these for myself as they provide a narrower gate (meaning legs are closer together when walking). Purchased size 25 as I am 180 lbs (200 with backpack) and 6 ft tall. Used these on two weekend hikes climbing 4 of the NH 4000 footers, two each weekend with an average of 10 miles each hike, and we were in them the entire hike. The vertical climbs were between 45 degrees and straight up some chimneys. These shoes were wonderful and the televators were awesome (first pair for me with them) on the steep climbs. People recommended that I should get the repair kit for these so I thought I would share that for when you order yours

Having done my research as well as having spoken to several avid snowshoers, I knew that the only snow shoes I wanted were the MSR Lightning Ascent. I'm an avid bargain hunter, and when I saw the price on these, I couldn't believe it! I only wish I had ordered two pair!! For those who might not know, MSR guarantees their products for life, so they're well worth the investment - even at retail! No one can believe the bargain I found on Amazon for this pair.

We have only used these snowshoes a couple of times but so far we are very happy with them. They are light strong comfortable and easy to walk on. The bindings are strong and very easy to use - three straps for the front of the boot and one for the heel for a secure fit.

MSR Ascents are the best snowshoes I've ever user. Period. Hands down! You cannot beat the traction uphill and downhill. They are light and the binding will fit bulky winter boots easily. The bindings are simple to adjust. These MSRs are on top of the snowshoe heap.

these are top of the line. You won't regret it...I am in Alaska, you guys got all of our snow this year so I haven't even used them yet except playing with them in the house :/Alaska called, they want their winter back.

Super raquettes que j'ai utilisées une fois seulement mais très simples et rapides à mettre. Légères, étroites pour les femmes.

商品表示に「女性用」と記してあったので、男性の私は購入時にすこし躊躇したが、実際に使ってみるとこの「女性用」の軽さと小ぶりなサイズがとてもよかった。スノーシューには、雪の状態や斜度、荷重などによって異なる性能が求められるものであって、女性用・男性用の区別をつける必要はないと思う。急登でのグリップ力はいうに及ばず、「女性用」固有の小ぶりで軽いことのメリットは、ヤブの出た雪面などや、急斜面での方向転換で発揮される。やはり山では、小さくて軽いものが扱い易い。締めたあとのストラップにまとまりがない点が、星ひとつマイナス。
