High Quality product. Installation in wide frames requires strength and skill.
Good quality. Works as intended. Very good quality and materials. Looks great and strong. Durable. Requires considerable strength to pull it wider for wide door frames, and rotating it. Probably more practical for once-and-done permanent installation than for daily installation and removal. Because it drops very little from the door frame, it is necessary to have sufficient head room between the door frame and the ceiling. Low drop ceilings with limited head-room (due to A/C vents for example) may limit its usability in some cases (like mine).

The Perfect Pull Up Device
I was originally intrigued by the simple unique design of this device. I was looking for something more than just a pull-up bar and this lured me in..I started to watch on line video reviews and was more than impressed. My device arrived in the mail today and LOVE everything about this! I'm 5'10, 170lbs. The strength of the steel is top notch. The strong rubberized red grip makes for perfect traction against the molding so you feel extremely secure. The versatility of the handles used at 90 degrees are an excellent option for anyone looking to change the angles of their routine. You may have to use alot of strength to expand the device to fit under the door frame but that's the true mark of the the overall durability. I've had a variety of pull up bars throughout the years that cost less than half of this BUT they never lasted... You get what you pay for and would highly recommend the Cross Grips Jayflex to anyone!

Overall satisifed!
For years I’ve been using the more tradtional doorway pullup bars that mostly rest on the edges of door frame s, have been using the kind with neutral grip options and happy, no damage to the door frame either, especially because I use extra padding between the door frame and pull up bar. But I started looking for another option that is more travel friendly because I’ll be travelling for work more often and recently went on a two week trip overseas. These work great! They are compact and worked just about everywhere I stayed except for a hotel in an island off Greece that had no tradtional door frames to grab on to. Ive even been using now that ive been back and dissassembled my old bulky pull up bar. They grab around the frame nicely and leave no marks at all so far. Only two issues: 1) the little grips that fold down are useless, I tried to put some weight on them and one began bending so I stopped and now it’s permanently crooked, for me it’s fine because I prefer the neutral grip but if I didn’t it would be a deal breaker because there is no way those straight grips would’ve held my weight 2) I definitely heard more creeking from the doorframe than I did with the other pull up bar but if I go slow it mostly stops, this has changed the way I do pull ups but am fine with it as going slower I feel my joints don’t bother me as much. Otherwise the pros outweigh the cons. It’s a little pricey but mostly seem well built and hopefully will last a long time.

Great Design, Poor Build Quality: So Close yet So Far...
Dear Jay, Your product has a great design with three strong points: - Compact Size: Perfect for travel. - Good Fit: Works with the girthiest of door frames and trim. - Clean Fittings: Rubber pads seem gentle on walls and frames (based on my brief usage). The clever design makes this tool stand out from other workout equipment. But the build quality is a major disappointment. First, the horizontal grips don’t have a large enough stopper to stay parallel to the ground, so they slip under the screw and tilt downward. I tightened the screw to fix this, but with more use, the frame itself started warping, causing the screw to angle even more and the grips to point further down. I lost all faith in the metal’s quality, as it kept bending until the horizontal grips were unusable. The box says carbon steel, but it feels like cheap aluminum. Then, the spring inside one grip came loose, making the handle unable to hold tension against the frame, rendering it useless. I fiddled with it for about 30 minutes but gave up. I’m returning it. The weak materials and flaws ruin a product I was excited to use for pull-ups anywhere. At this price, the quality is far too low. I would be more than happy to pay twice as much for a product that I know I can truly use everywhere and won't simply fall apart due to the most regular type of usage. This one just isn't it.

Seemed great at first but on second thought has quite a few major flaws
A little deceptive. It seems like it can clear 7.5 inches. but it barely made it onto my 6 inch door frame reason being the rubber parts of the pull up bar add on another 1 inch-ish for both sides meaning it can barely clear a 6 inch frame. I also had to do some really awkward fidgeting and twisting and turning to get it off; most likely wearing the rubber part out and putting unfavorable mechanical stress on the item. Another thing that doesn't make sense is making this spring loaded. Why not make it a separable piece? That way it can be assembled onto the door frame regardless of how wide it is. Add some kind of lock in mechanism to connect the two bits together and you now have something that's significantly stronger than spring loaded action. The spring loaded action also means you can't use resistance bands for additional variety of exercises. This is good for pull ups period. Add resistance band work and the spring loaded mechanics fail to keep it in place. This is strictly good for up and down movement. Sideways and front to back movements fail due to spring loaded action, there's no way it can handle the weight. And could handle that weight then you wouldn't be able to pull it apart to open it up. At a first glance this seemed like a good product and it is but only strictly for pull ups and even then you might damage the item just from fitting it and removing it from your door frame due to its below 6 inches of clearance width.

This is a solid, decent product. It’s perfect for travel, or if you lack space. I have a free standing pull up bar at home, but these little fellas are great for travel. They are light enough to carry in a backpack or holdall, but sturdy enough to be a solid product. They are easy to use, just watch your fingers for pinching in the spring loaded mechanism. They are surprisingly stable for pull/chin ups in three positions, and I use them for knee and leg raises. The guidance is to use under the bars, not anything that will cause them to dislodge. I had zero problems with the exercises I do. I also use them for two types of deeper push ups, but had a little slip, so make sure they are in the correct position, and be mindful, as they can be prone to movement. I would highly recommend this product, despite its higher cost. For me it was everything I needed for travel. The rubber grips did remove a small amount of paint, but it was not visible on the paintwork itself, as it’s just above the door frame. Take care to measure your doorframe, as it may not fit very wide frames, but is fine for standard UK frames. I weigh 80kg, and it held my weight just fine. The design is clever and seems reliable. I used them for two weeks, with few problems. An issue is the grips do slide and rotate somewhat, so will interfere with your grip, and the front handles that fold down, do dip at a downward angle, so takes a little getting used to. After a few uses, I found the adjustment ok. I previously used a £30 simple doorway bar, but despite no issues with it, never trusted it like the CrossGrips, and it left large rectangle marks in the paintwork. It was also terrible for travel. The other issue may be the size of the handles, I have tiny little girly hands for a fella, and my hands took up the full grip space. I think there is no substitute for a free standing bar, they're just so sturdy, and can deal with all kinds of movement. But for the rest of the market, these are the best I could find, and most YouTube reviews seemed to say the same thing. The company were really good to deal with, communication was excellent, and after a supply issue, they came reasonably quickly to the UK from the US. They aren’t cheap, but on the plus side, delivery was free if you opt for standard delivery. I will continue to use the CrossGrips when I travel, and hopefully, they will last as a product. Nice one guys! 👍

Great idea, it doesn't dirty walls or doors. One of the two knobs, after using it 5-6 times, bent slightly from 90 degrees to 100 degrees. Also, the plastic cover that wraps around the handles keeps shifting. For the price paid, these flaws shouldn't be present

These things are a bit expensive compared to other similar alternatives, but they're worth every penny. I've checked a few video reviews before buying them and I don't regret it. Super handy for quick home workouts!
