Simple and dependable
I have GarageBand on the iPad and I have purchased so many adapters, connectors, gadgets that either didn’t work or only worked occasionally or after much massaging, but this thing just works. It’s simple, it’s easy to use and it just works. Right away. Years ago I had a previous generation and it also worked quickly, easily and dependably. Skip the hassles and have some fun. Use this thing and get a quick, simple solution. True plug and play ease.

Worth the money to start the digital recording journey.
Worth the money for a start up on guitar recording. The quality is great and the controls are lenient for everyone to understand without any issues. It is highly portable and the best part is not requiring any power supply. Sound quality is decent for the price. I would highly recommend this product.

Great value. Close to the Irig HD 2 with distorted sounds.
I have been playing guitar with a traditional cheap amp for years. Just dealt with it because I didnt have the money to buy expensive amps and get good tones. Then I found ios, tonebridge, interfaces and sims... Game changer... Let me say, before I tried this, I was convinced that interface tech needed to be powered. Using an analog piece like this to convert signal would just be impossible, would result in either latency or muddied sound... I tried it anyway for portability and trying my iPad with my guitar on tonebridge or garageband for the first time. WOW. I was wrong. This item works much better than expected. Can't believe its only $40 to be honest. Pros: - No latency. This was super surprising to me. - Inexpensive way to get your guitar hooked into an iOS device like an ipad. This unlocks a world of options, amps, and tones (see below). - Sounds fine. With amp sims and aws tools (tonebridge, garageband) you can boost nearly any level/frequency so you can make this piece sound great Cons: -Honestly none. Zero, and I went into this HATING this piece expecting it to fail; it did not. -Could mayyyybe say you wanted a beefier piece, or better tone, but come on, not for $40... Final Impression: If you play traditional guitar and amps and have never tried interfaces and amp sims, this is an eye opening experience, like finding the guitar for the first time all over. Get an ios device, even a $150 ipad, then get this interface (or the irig hd 2, see below). Plug it in and get FREE apps like garageband and Tone bridge, and you will get amps and sounds you NEVER thought possible without thousands of dollars. Note: Also bought the iRig HD 2 to compare. If your sounds have gain/distortion, the difference is actually much more subtle than I expected. The Irig sounds muddier then then HD, but only very slightly. Clean tones there is a more noticeable difference. I went with the Irig HD 2 because I am willing to spend 100$ vs 40$ for any little bit of clarity, but if I was on a tight budget, the Irig 2 would work fine.

Got the job done, but could have been better.
I bought this to use at my church. I use it to be able to live stream from our sound board in the easiest and most cost effective way possible. Pros: It did the job. You just plug it into the phone or whatever you’re using to record. It couldn’t be easier. It’s cheap. Cons: It’s not made for what I was using it for. It only works on apple products. If you have a digital board, look for a digital version of this. It also was hard to determine the volume level on the irig. There are no markings just a dial type thing. (Don’t know what it’s called, sorry.) There’s no way of knowing if it’s peaking until you record and listen after you’re done. That’s not great for live sound. Finally, it has a hard time with hi tones. Our female vocals and our electric guitars would peak long before anything else would. Our circumstances due to Covid were that we wanted to spend as little money as possible to get a livestream of our services. The way I would sound check sound levels ahead of time would be to do one instrument at a time and record onto my phone and listen back to what it recorded. Then we would all play together and listen back to the recording. Every tweak we made required us to do another recording and listen to see if it fixed the problem. It was time consuming and not the best tool for the job, but it worked and we didn’t spend a lot of money. If you have the money to spend, get something else. If not, this will work it will just require more time and patience.

Works great, even if a bit dated in 2024
I bought this to start using virtual effects and amp models in my iPhone, mostly with live performance in mind. The iPhone I'm using for this is an older one, an iPhone 6, and that's one reason I chose the iRig2, since it takes advantage of the 6's 3.5mm headphone jack, leaving the lightning port free for other uses. Also, I love the simplicity of this analog unit, and the price is great. I primarily use Tonestack for my virtual effects, and it pops up a warning with the IRig2 about higher risk of feedback with headphone jack interfaces. Because of this, Tonestack automatically turns on feedback protection for this device, and I've had no issues at all. I'm mostly plugging into this with a simple and inexpensive soundhole pickup mounted in my acoustic guitar. I initially worried about latency, but it hasn't been an issue for me - seems fine for my purposes. Sound quality has been great. I really love this little device. It let me repurpose an old iPhone 6 that was just sitting unused in a drawer, and now I have a very economical virtual guitar setup that's working great for my needs.

Awful background noise level
The noise floor on this thing is absolutely HORRENDOUS and ruins any recording. However I've already registered the product so now I'm stuck with it. DO NOT BUY, you've been warned. Something is fishy about all these five star reviews that never once mention something that was immediately jarring and obvious from the moment I plugged into it.

Forget about Android, it works but the lag is more than half second. You can't play basically. Tried PC version of Amplitube. In spite of multiple iterations with a very kind support team, I was never able to have it emit a single sound. Returned
