Does Danncy brand Pure vanilla extract contain coumarin?

Pure Vaniila Extract is required to contain the extractives of 13.35 ounces of vanilla beans with a minimum of 35% alcohol by volume by Code of Federal Regulations. This product does not contain any alcohol and it is not Pure Vanilla Extract as the label states.

why the different spellings of "vanilla"?

don't know bout spellings but this is by far the best vanilla I have ever had. I like to bake and could never go back to the vanilla that is sold other than this.

does one of these bottles have a flip top cap - i previously threw out my white bottle not realizing that the dark bottle only had a twist on cap

Both of mine only have the twist caps. But don't you just love the vanilla?

Is there any difference between the taste of the clear vs the dark. Is there perhaps coloring added to the dark which is the only real difference ?

Clear vanilla is NOT vanilla extract. It is made with vanillan, a chemical. Dark vanilla CAN be extract (it takes on the color of the beans), but at this price I'm sure both of these are artificial vanilla.
