Excellent and very strong wall mount for my monitors (I got two of these_
First off, this is a BIG item. I was shocked...plus I never figured out how to adjust it. I called the mfgr and they said an engineer would get one and call me backHe or she never called back..so we mounted it up...and Lo and Behold, it worked just fine.... we popped to two monitors on it once it was up and we could move them around the way I wanted them to be over my envelop desk.So although I have NO idea of why it works so well (it looks like there might some kind of hydraulic lift there....but call the mfgr because it is a mystery to me.I got these for less than $50 a piece with free shipping... (I LOVE Amazon PRIME!)....and I have seen it listed at other places at much more.... even $300+.So to sum up, it is VERY sturdy, impossible for me to figure out, But it works. so what the heck!

Built like a tank, but be sure of your application! Looks can be deceiving.
This item is made of very heavy metal with only a little plastic trim; I have no doubt that it could hold its advertised load without any difficulty. However there are a few gotchas about this product that will result in me returning them.First the Amazon picture is not representative of the unit I received. The wall mount plate is different, with an oval, two-holed mount (may be better for many). I was looking for the rectangular, 4 hole plate specifically. please see the link to the manufacturers website below or search for it on google to see the actual item.Second, from the description and the image, I thought that the arm was constructed to allow 7" of travel *in the same plane*, that is, directly up and down, with the arm retracted against the wall. Not so. The 'height adjustment' is accomplished by the rotation of the arm at the first joint closest to the wall. The internal linkage (very solid looking btw) allows the panel to rotate around the second joint, maintaining the same angle I presume. The catch is that since the arm is articulating away from the wall it will mess with your viewing distance at the same time as the height. This might work for many applications, but in my case I wanted the vesa mounted display to remain as close as possible to the wall.I can't fault amazon per se, since inside the package there are no instructions for explicitly adjusting the height, and the manufacturers copy is identically flawed. However, if you follow the steps to loosen the appropriate bolts you will become aware of the true operation of the device, but that falls a bit short of full disclosure if you ask me. A simple schematic showing the degrees of freedom would have made this complaint unnecessary.[...]Again, the item looks and feels solidly built, I take no issue with its construction, only with the description and instructions.
