Sturdy and moves a lot of air
I wasn't quite sure what to expect with this ginormous fan. It actually moves more air than I expected. The fan blade is well balanced, and it turns very smoothly. It spins up somewhat slowly and then whirs at a high speed. It's somewhat noisy, maybe like a few old-style tower-type CPUs running side-by-side. However, you get a LOT of air movement for that noise. I have added a dimmer to the cord to throttle the thing down a bit. However, the buyer should be aware that a dimmer doesn't work very well on it. It will slow the fan to about half speed at 90% "on," and at about 75% "on," it won't run the fan at all. I think others have suggested a PCM module to control fan speed, but I'm OK with the dimmer for my purposes. In parallel with the dimmer, I wired the relay of a thermostatic controller. So when my equipment first comes alive, the fan runs at half speed on the dimmer. If the cabinet temperature exceeds a threshold, then the relay closes, and the fan runs at full speed. Very pleased with the fan. However, knowing what I know now, I might have ordered the next size down. ;-)

Great little fans.
These motors are great for the application that we use them for. Easy to wire and seem to have sufficient airflow. We use these for additional airflow of reach in cooler condensers.

It moves the air, and not too loud.
There is a lot going on here. The building I am in... has a bunch of issues, that the superintendent seemed to find creative ways to work around. The Vent that I've rigged seemed to have a box inside with a side hole on the inside. It looks like it fits an enclosed exhaust vent, the light switch is conveniently under this vent. It looks like when they remodeled this building it had its own fan that was attached to the light, like how you would typically find. Speaking to these gentlemen they explained that there is a massive fan on the roof and it's all a passive system that should work. It does not work. You poop and the smell will travel. The problem with a system like this is airflow. They didn't think about the vairying pressures across the different connected apartments and ones who have their windows open will have a working exhaust, and since I belive in Air Conditioning in the summer... Yea.. So this fan, suspiciously... Supported by what looks like a creative idiot... Me... Works! The bathroom is kinda small to mid sized, 6x9 just about, and it will clear the smell in like 4 minutes. There is a lot going on. I'm sorry that I am not technical enough to give you valuable information, but I'm pretty sure what I have to say has some value? Noise: not as bad as a bathroom exhaust fan that is 2 decades old. If I foam the frame and mount it probably it would be pretty silent. Effective Air Flow given the configuration: There is fluid dynamics or air flow dynamics that you have to think about when using this type of fan. Usually you need to have the correct blades andthe shape of the frame affects it. So basically.. The edges and center is very weak, but there is a ring where the flow of air is the strongest, if you are piping or pushing it into a hole like I am... You need to be smart enough to plan all this out before hand to make the flow of air most effective. My rough estimate, and this has no real measurement outside of me using my skin to sense it... It's about 6 inches. You probably want 2 or 3 inches funneling into the hole. Suffice it to say it will do the job your looking for it to do. The construction seems pretty good, you can probably kill someone by using this thing as a weapon. Connecting it directly to the AC wall power... It take about 24 seconds for it to reach top speed. Lol there is no pot to control its speed, so the varying changes in Voltage causes it to slow and speed up, but it's running at Top speed. If you have bad ears and not OCD like me you might not notice. I highly recommend the dial thing for $14 bucks, that I saw Amazon recommend. I'll be moving out in a year and I have a house in Maryland. I will repurpose this for my shed. Lol it's half tool shed and it's walled off to have a chicken coup. I'm sure my girls will appreciate this fan attached to a relay that's controlled by temperature. Lol I hope this helps, this fan was overkill for what I need.. And I'm sure it will make you happy.

Works with Lincoln MIG 140!
The fan on my MIG welder was dying but didn't want to pay $55 for a fan so this worked! The spec is almost the same but otherwise it's 120V so I simply swapped with the old fan to this new. The connectors at least for my welder plugged into this new fan. About the same noise level but now it's working again. The polarity for the fan wires won't matter as it's 120V AC. You only need to take off the screws on the red cover and the one facing the front to dislocate the handle. Very easy!

Placed in the open, it moves air well. Add a screen or air filter and it doesn't.
Nicely built cooling fan which was purchased to move air through a storage shed. Moves a lot of air until it's placed in front of a screen, then the motor slows down significantly. Seems that the motor is rather weak.

I picked up a few of these Wathai AC 12038 axial fans for adding to the top of a server rack, and they’ve performed exactly as advertised. The high airflow is impressive—these fans move a serious amount of air, making them ideal for cooling enclosures, server racks, or other heat-sensitive setups. One of the best features is the ease of wiring. The included press-fit couplers made installation quick and painless, even for someone without a lot of electrical experience. It’s a thoughtful touch that saves time and avoids the need for extra connectors or soldering. That said, these fans are quite loud. If you're planning to use them in a quiet office or living space, you might want to consider alternatives or look into noise dampening solutions. But if noise isn’t a concern and you need reliable, high-performance cooling, these are a solid choice. Overall, great value for the performance—just know what you're getting into with the sound levels.
