Julian Bowen Grey Wood Cleo Nest of Tables

Easy to assemble, just put 2 washers on each of the 12 bolts and secure the legs onto each of the 3 table tops using the supplied Allen key. 15 minute job. The colour was as I expected and there were no problems lining up the bolts. The size is smaller than most nests of tables so do check the measurements first. They look good and I am happy with the quality and finish.

When these tables were first delivered, several of the table legs were shorter than the others causing the tables to be unstable and not sit level. The legs and surfaces also had chips in that were very obvious, so I'm pretty sure the item lacks quality control of any sort. But a quick email to Amazon, they were returned and a new set sent out which were much better (sounds like a lottery based on the reviews). I've now owned these tables for two years and they've stood the test of time reasonably well. They're used quite frequently and the finish on the tables is still fairly decent. A quick wipe with a damp cloth does the job of removing most things, just make sure to spray the cloth rather than the table directly. That said, there are a few marks on the tables (very faint and only noticeable up close in direct sunlight), which were likely caused by the spray from acidic drinks being opened. Good: The tables are well packaged and simple to put together. The size of them is more than adequate, whether you're using them for display or as sofa-side tables, they do the job nicely. Bad: The edges of the tables are rounded, but not in a uniform way, so if you're a perfectionist, this will likely annoy you. The paint isn't very well done so you'll need to be careful and avoid scratching them. Overall, I think they're a decent buy for under £50. However, if you want quality tables that will last you 10 years or more, I'd spend double and get some proper oak ones.

I bought the light oak finish set of three nesting tables. They arrived well-packaged with all the bits and bobs required for assembly - 12 each of bolts and of two different washers, plus an Allen key. The colour is lovely - perhaps a shade more honey than shown in the picture. All three of my tables had smooth varnished tops and all three were exactly the same colour. They appear to be solid wood and have a pleasing weight to them. Assembly couldn't be easier - the legs just have to be attached to the tops. This is done by a single bolt (with two washers) through the leg into a pre-drilled hole in the top. Using the Allen key I got a really sturdy join; I didn't need to use any wood glue. The medium and large tables are perfectly stable on a hard floor. The smallest table wobbles ever so slightly - maybe a mm or two. However when used on carpet in the lounge, this goes away. Clearly some reviewers have had problems with dents, rough surfaces, mis-matched colour or missing pieces. All I can say is that I've had none of those issues and am very happy with my purchase, especially at the price. The set I got was high quality throughout and very good value. I'd never heard of Julian Bowen before, but it's a name I'll remember if I need more furniture in future. Thoroughly recommended.

When these arrived, I did wonder why there were holes at the bottom of the legs, I questioned this reply was there are on every one for no reason, although one person said hers had no holes. So they were put together after a week I went to dust them and notthatvthe leg of the middle table was loose, I checked this thinking that I had not tightened it enough, not the case as can be seen by the pictures. The original price should have been I think £109. They were on offer that week so I paid 46.99. Thought it was a good price, I rang amazon and the person I spoke to was very helpful and I said I had thrown the box away, she said don't worry she would refund the money and order me a new set. I said I didn't want a new set as it put me off, so they refunded the full amount and told me to keep them. They were certainly not worth full price, I will be replacing them at some point. Where the scew is where it's split is not even proper wood, the edges of the tables ate not perfect Cheap and nasty.

The nest of tables are fine if your just looking for an additional set like I was, to use occasionally. They were easy to assemble, they did include an Allan key but this was a bit bendy my husband had to find a stronger one to finish the job. The instruction were not overly clear but it was easy to work out. The finish on the top is not the best but okay, the finish underneath is not the worst but okay. In all honesty if I was paying full price I would have sent them back but at £63 they are absolutely fine as as an additional set for occasional use. They look nice enough in the corner with a plant on top.

Really nice set of tables at a very good price. Just what we wanted.

Sur les 3 tables, 2 ne sont pas correctement finies. Sur la grande table, le système de serrage d'un pied est défectueux et le bois casse (sans avoir forcé). Sur la table moyenne, le trou pour le serrage avec la vis est décentré ce qui fait que le pied se monte de travers.

Obviously one and two star reviews contradict my review so either we were lucky or they were unlucky. The items ordered in black. arrived in good condition, well finished , sturdy and easy to assemble (took less than 20 minutes with Allen key provided) I particularly liked the nut, bolt, washer and spring washer assembly to secure each leg - particularly the spring washer which reduced the likelihood of legs frequently becoming loose when being moved around a lot (as a nest of tables tends to be). Possibly there are quality control issues but I personally found the quality to be more than acceptable within the price band. If you want a natural solid wood clear varnished/polished finish then expect to pay far more

Gut verarbeitet. Alle Löcher exakt vorgebohrt. Aufbau schnell und problemlos...Anzumerken wäre : die Tische sind jetzt eher dunkelbraun als mahagoni....stört uns aber nicht ! Wir sind zufrieden !
