Sooo yeah, this book makes it so easy to mix beautiful colors. The mixing grid is awesome for beginners and advanced. I appreciate the thought and design that went into this book. I've already recommended it to several artist I've included my first attempt to follow a recipe and wow it worked well. The image is a bit hard to get because of lighting...but it really is close for a first attempt I'm very happy!

I absolutely LOVE this book, it is easy to follow, comprehensive & you will learn exactly how to master the art of creating your own ulimited color palette from a limited number of initial paints. The pages are thick, so I am not sure how the "comb spiral" binding will hold up, another reviewer mentioned fully taking off the hardcover (that maybe an option), but for now it is perfect. It covers acrylic, oil & watercolor, as well as some specific color collections like landscape & portraits. Included are the templates for measuring out the appropriate paints. I thoroughly recommend this book to any aspiring artist.

I bought this for my daughter who has begun to paint. She is a visual learner so I wanted to get her something she could follow. The color recipes are arranged in a logical way (want to paint landscapes? There's a section of landscape colors) and there is a an actual palette you can use as a guide. I like the book so much I'm going to get one for myself.

This book has been helpful in my quest to learn watercolor painting. Mixing colors can be difficult but having a guide to help makes it so much easier.

色彩の説明から、理論、カラーレシピ・ヴァリューレシピ、肖像画の制作の為の混色の割合、 白黒での顔面での、色の変化の違い、次に肌色での顔面の色の変化の説明。口・耳・肌・鼻 眼の色のトーンの説明がされている。そして、髪の色の混色の方法。風景画の空・雲・木・山 非常に複雑な自然の持つ色の説明と、混色の方法が、掲載されている。最後に色彩の混色のグリッドが掲載されていて どの様な比率で、混色すれば、モティーフの色彩を再現出来るかどうか、自然の持つ微妙な色彩読み込む事が 出来るかどうか、本人の勉強の度合いによるだろう。色彩に関してはいい本だと思う。 オイル・アクリル・水彩での使用法が掲載されている。

Great guide to colour mixtures. The one negative may be the need to have all the colours listed to achieve the required results. An experienced artist would find work arounds by using similar or fewer colours. Excellent book other otherwise. Recommend.
